I almost didn't watch this because I already know what Tier 1 through Tier 4 schematics are ...
"Tier" is an overloaded term. I suggest changing the title of this post to "God Leveling" or "OP Leveling" or something like that. Same with the description in the video and in the post #1.
Ahhh kk thanks ![]()
Rift Mage is buggy (Shock / Weakness bug), they do not work on Giants (who are immune to Weakness) and 2 of its spells are not very good on large enemies (Pull of the Abyss & Veilstrike). Unlike Necromancer's high mana cost, you cannot solve these problems via items or other spells.
By contrast Knight Enchanters are not bugged and only 1 of their ability (Disruption Field) does not work against large enemies. The only downside to this specialization is that it is defensive instead of offensive.
Additionally, there is also the Necromancer who are not bugged (who had their Walking Bomb bugs fixed) and who always have 2 abilities that will work on everyone regardless of resistances because Spirit damage is not resisted (Spirit Mark and Walking Bomb). Spirit Mark is also pretty great now when combined with Static Cage and mana issues are solved via Fade Step and items.
Personally, I would rank Necromancer as God Tier followed by Knight Enchanter in Tier 1 and Rift Mage in Tier 2. If Rift Mage was not bugged and was not rendered useless against a specific enemy, I would rate the mage specializations the way you did.
What's with 720p videos? even I on my crappy rig can squeeze 1080p with more less smooth frame rate. Your videos just look awful and jerky it's time to upgrade your pc.
okay okay calm down, when im doing many things on my pc which i do as im doing Computer science at uni rendering at 1080p slows my computer down when im working and that cant happen so please dont be a dick about it. Doesn't look Jerry to me though. What's with 720p videos? even I on my crappy rig can squeeze 1080p with more less smooth frame rate. I'd agree. I actually went with a melee rift mage because I found RM only to excel at certain kinds of battles.
KE doesn't excel at any kind of battle, but doesn't face any real challenges when combating different enemies either. KE is the master generalist.

All you are really saying is that rankings are contextual, not absolute. Personally, I agree with you that I'd rather have a KE than an RM versus a dragon, particularly solo, but on the other hand, I'd rather have an RM than a KE in the first half of Descent, or in most of JoH.
Any spec can be made god-like, under the right circumstances.
You should try a Necromancer in Descent. Walking Bomb + Static Cage + Wall of Fire = Epic Funsies.

That is very fun, at the same time though, placing two mines and then pull of the abyss every mod into it, and watch as a ton of mobs get stuck in the air then stone fist then and veil strike, It's very nice once you pull it off ![]()
