Yeah, the Sloth Demon trying to use Duncan and the Wardens to tempt your HoF was rather stupid.
Would have fit alot more to use the HoF origin story, for example: A mage HoF is suddenly back in an non-demon infested tower with all their fellow mages, A dwarf noble is back in Orzammar with their brothers and father, etc. etc.
Would have been awesome

Yep. Chilling with the Wardens at Weisshaupt was more of a nightmare than a dream for most of my Wardens...
Though one time I did agree with Duncan that it was an awesome place and I was ready to just kick back and relax and leave the saving of the world to other people, and I got a non-standard Game Over.

Yes i wonder that myself, why would the demon use Duncan instead of anyone The Warden cared about? The spirit at Andraste Temple done better by impersonating papa Cousland...
Maybe because it's a nightmare, Duncan is The Warden nightmare, by means he's not someone who give a sweet dream to The Warden...

Qis,The demon could have used the CE's mother or if a Dalish Elf is used his/her friend Tamlin.
As much as I love playing DA:O the B-W writers has way to many WTH moments in the game.

I admit, I crack up when he says "It seems that only war and death will satisfy you. So be it! Have your war and your darkspawn! May they be your doom!" I don't want to chill, so we jump straight to murder? ![]()

Yeah, and furthermore we know it's a dream, the scenery, the music, the visual and sound effect, the event before we have that dream...nothing convincing lol

Having a moment connected to their life would have been better, but they went and did that with the Urn quest instead.

An Amell should wake up in his or her new room. And if you helped Jowan escape, then they are looking for who helped him. If you informed Irving, then people are celebrating you for exposing the plan of the blood mage. All is well in the circle, and you are loved by all. If Wynne is in the party, then you can talk to her and she will explain that she had a strange dream too about Ostagar and something about her students dying, but she can't remember. Same with Surana.
Each story would require the player to do something drastic to escape the dream. The Cousland would have to end up killing Eleanor. The mage would have to defy Irving and attack the templars. A Dwarven noble would have to give up the crown. Etc.

The Cousland should have awoken in his or her bed, "the next morning", and if either Iona or Dairren were there too then they should be present. If Dog is in the party, then you see him acting strange to the surroundings. Then you get to see Eleanor, Oriana, and Oren again, and Duncan is testing Ser Gilmore. And Bryce has left with Howe to Ostagar. And as you recall what happened everyone tries to get you to stay and enjoy you time with them. And if you don't snap out of it, you lose the game. Having Dog with you would give you an extra chance, since Dog would know something is wrong. Otherwise, Dog might be missing, which would be a clue that something is off.

Also, Cullen should be totally over confident, lol. I'm sure my Amell would be like "YOU. AREN'T.CULLEN, AGH!!" (and btw, thank you for giving me an idea...)

That's my guess too.
If I was a City Elf, it would have been his/her mother. Or Dalish would have Tamlen. Or whatever.
Duncan is a common thread for all of the origins, but he doesn't mean anything to most of my characters.

Sloth couldn't even get Duncan's weapons right; must have got lazy.
From my understanding, there are supposed to be subtle clues to tell the player that each dream including their own that something is amiss. Sten understood that he was in a dream but he still missed his fellow Qunari, True he is a ruthless bastard but not an heartless one.

Well, if it was something like: Human noble: Appears on Highever with his family and so on, Dalish Elf: Back on the forest with Tamlen, City Elf: Married with that girl/guy/, Dwarf noble: In Orzammar with his father and two brothers and no problem, Dwarf Commoner: living in the Diamond Quarter thanks to his sister that moved up with a noble, Mage: back in the tower(I don't know, pretty poor origin that one).
Duncan was a poor choice indeed, we don't even get to talk with him a little.

My Commoner wanted Jarvia's job. On a throne. Also a she. ![]()
