The NWN2 Patcher by tnt220, which is here:

when unarchived - you need a third-party unzip program because Windows' Extract All thinks the EXE is "harmful" - has invalid permissions, and even after "fixing" them the EXE results in:

 

"Windows cannot access... blah blah blah"

 

Is this a Windows 10 thing? (Probably.)

When I use nwupdate.exe it says it downloaded the first patch but then aborts with a "corrupt" file error - and the zip archive, nwn2_pcx2_englishvofix_from1201541_to1201541.zip, is "1.04K", when it is 325MB when downloaded manually.

 

And, the NWN2 "Main Menu" for me has no "Update" button!

 

I know NWN2 is old, but I like it, and I'd like to finish it!

I haven't tried the patcher in Win8.1, choosing instead to get the final patched version from GoG. I have no idea if the patcher tool will still work. Perhaps you need to run the patcher in compatibility mode for Win XP SP3?
