if you think about it, there is nothing new here.  It's the suit in the trailer.  And if this is all that Bio is willing to give us.....regurgitated flotsam.

BioWare didn't give this to us. It was just a post from an artist on a niche site.

That's the thought I keep coming back to. It doesn't look like Mass Effect, and it's generic. I'll take the "wetsuits" of ME1 over this overdesigned, underwhelming Halo suit.

I like it too and how well it's detailed. I'm sure well see more designs which are better yet as we get closer to the release date xD

I'm not sure where I said that their aliens are bad, all I said was that their quarian was bad which is just a badly photoshop edit while the fans can come up with very cool quarian designs.

Were Mass Effect armors ever actually exciting? Most of the time it was a basic skin-tight mesh with a different pattern and perhaps 3 grades of armor plating on the shoulders.

Why would armor need to excite you? It's not a birthday gift, it's freakin' armor.

A flap to cover your mouth on an exo suit.....yo dawg I heard you like covering your mouth from dirt......so we made you all into Quarians, now you have to filter your own oxygen, before you filter your oxygen to breathe it.

I'm responding to the remark that the armor is boring, which I found curious, because that would suggest that the armors in the previous games were somehow exciting, but it just seems weird to me because really, this design is not that much of a departure from the standard N7 armor from the previous games. It obviously takes many cues from that design and just adds more texture and layering. Heck, it's not even as busy as some of the armor options available in ME3.

I love the design! Definitely feels more tailored towards exploration than combat, which fits the theme of the game.

The rest is just ok. Honestly, without the N7 on the chest plate I don't know that Mass Effect would be my first guess. It looks more HALO than Mass Effect to me, but considering the story is basically becoming a wholesale ripoff of HALO at this point, I guess it's fitting enough.

It's not even authentic leather though :/  

 

I looked at it yesterday... thought.. hummm.... Now I've thought some more.. It looks kind of cheap. It doesn't look like N7 elite armour it looks like it's using a lot of soft plastics. I could see it on a cheaper version, but it looks kind of cheap for the elite of the elite.

 

But it's not a game breaker.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the heck others see, but the design is pretty much all there, save for some details here and there (and better looking carbon fiber). The only thing that's wildly different is the helmet, and even then, ME3 had a helmet option that looked like that too, albeit not a sealed one.

 

I also disagree with the comparison to Halo armor. Halo armor is huge and bulky and made of lots of segments of big colored plastic. In any case, BioWare can't win here. If they went back to the shitty leotards of ME1, they'd get slammed for that too.

They will never please everyone that's for sure, but that should never be their aim. They just have to do the best game they can. This armor for me really nails what I expect from Andromeda, it's Mass Effect, but it's also new.

The helmet is the biggest derparture, although not if you search a bit, it's not that big. You can see some helmets that look closer to this in the art of Mass Effect and the Cerberus' dragoon helmet is very close to that:

I don't like the "neckerchief," possibly because I've never really liked westerns. It looks useless and breaks up the hard/clean lines. Which is probably the point, but I don't find it attractive. It just screams "weak point!" to me.

Would be nice to see the default faces for M/F. Unless they are going the route of not having a defined face and will allow the player to create their own faces as default.
