Used for what? It's just there to look like a bandanna around a cowboy's neck.

Have faith in the neckerchiefs of the future Killroy, they hold more secrets than you realize

Not at all actually. BioWare has already stated we are somehow affiliated with N7 and the character in the E3 2015, who many speculate is the antagonist, seems to be a rogue N7 operative. Reminds me of Saren being a rogue Spectre in ME1. It wouldn't be that unreasonable to believe all military-issued N7 armor is more or less identical. It actually wouldn't make any sense if sense if N7 armor was unique toward the wearer, unless the lore compliments this line of reasoning.

How can the protagonist be N7 if they're "untested?" It makes more sense for there to be a squad mate who is ome based on that description.

How do we know the N7 of the Ark is the same as the N7 of the Alliance? The Ark clearly won't be an exclusively Alliance-backed endeavor so what would the old N7 really mean in Andromeda?

Maybe because the PC still hasn't gone through official N7 missions before the Ark left, you know, like Vega.

Looks like a zip collar to me, so probably to protect the wearers neck and mouth in cold and/or stormy weather.

Protect the user's mouth? But not the rest of his head? It's very clearly a stylistic choice. Why would anyone take off their protective helmet to put on a fabric mouth cover to protect from the... mouth storms?

And the flap is asymmetrical, so it would only protect half of the mouth.

I don't mind it but it's a little baffling that any human takes off his or her helmet in any atmosphere that is not earth or artificially created to replicate it. Just because an atmosphere is breathable, it doesn't mean you should. If you didn't grow up on the planet, you won't have resistances to all the micro-organisms that would likely kill you.

Even if you were inoculated (and most of the time it doesn't seem like they would have a chance to be when they're stepping on an uncharted world), unless the composition is 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, you're probably better off breathing the air from your suit.

Maybe they take off their helmets to de-sensitise themselves to alien environments but in some cases need a type of face protector.

Or maybe it's just a dorky, do-nothing flap.

That seems like it'd go against the lore of what N7 means in ME, but it's not like that'd be the first time there was hand waving. Lol

Not sure how those missions were really any different. Sure, it's supposed to be the equivalent of elite spec op forces but do any of them work as a solo entity as opposed to a team with other spec op soldiers? Also, the MEU has yet to really show what sets N7 apart other than codex entries and a few lines from Vega and Shepard. Other than the faCT that there's maybe 4 in the entire Milky Way.

It's pretty easy to understand the "untested" bit, I don't know the issue here. It's like an astronaut who's yet to be on space, he/she has all the training, but hasn't put them into use.

It looks very restrictive and not very easy to fight in.

I'm trying to figure out how you'd even put it on. Going to the bathroom must be a nightmare. Unless there's some sort of future diaper or catheter tech BW hasn't told us about.

Gross.

Yes, but an astronaut isn't a soldier that joins the most elite group of soldiers. That's what the N7 have been billed as.

.... So you can`t understand that such elite soldier hasn't undergone N7 missions because his/her time with such group has been little before the Ark left...? There's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah. I had real difficulty wearing it on my tread mill last night. And it's very itchy. It feels better after a few washes. :)

It's also drip and dry, premapress, self cleaning in the oven, memory foam, comfortable seat, no-wear boots (great for motorcycling!), gloves don't fall off, muscle toning, slenderizing, shows thigh air for femmes. It's mjolnir XI.

For the non-optimal scenario where you lose your helmet?

I know the artists did it for style, I'm just wondering if there will be an option to zip it up when the helmet is off.

It doesn't even zip up anywhere. Look at the collar. It's just an extraneous flap.

There's part of another flap sticking out on the left side of his neck.

*shrug* I might just be rationalizing. I like the look, at least so far that it distinguishes the look from your run of the mill scifi battle armor.

It does have a velcro tab on the end.

Double-filtered oxygen.

That's strong stuff :P

Maybe its for wiping your suit-mouth when you're introducing triple filtered Turian Brandy through the induction port?

You're imagining things. That thing on the left isn't asymmetrical like the flap(it's the same on the right and left). And there's nothing to connect the velcro to unless it's under the armor, which would defeat the purpose.

Just look at where the flap is laying. The right edge would be on the wearer's cheek and the nose and left side of the face would be largely uncovered.

Looks extremely awesome if you ask me. The helmet in particular.

That's the same one from the trailer?
