I know they aren't the game, just throwing this out there. In the comics, there was a few females. Garrus's mother, a mother pushing her terror-stricken child, into a Reaper artifact. And a few others I can't remember the comic they're in tho.

The Omega DLC for ME3 was the first time in the series we got to see a female turian. The Cabal Vanguard was later added in MP, and another female turian made a brief appearance in the Citadel DLC.550677_384766628265393_1687981948_n.jpgDo you think there will be female turians in Andromeda? I always thought it was odd how virtually all the turians we interacted with in the original trilogy were male, especially since they supposedly have an egalitarian culture. What do you think?

There is literally no reason we shouldn't see female turian.....and that is plural.
It was kind of bs that it took 3 games and we only got one as dlc in the last game. In terms of lore, female turian should be numerous and pretty much as visible as the males.

Female Turians, yes please. But I want them with fringes this time as it's been mentioned in the game at least twice. (Salarian bachelor party "Asari look like Turians -- look at the fringe" and Garrus' "I'd be complimenting your waist... Or your fringe" lines in ME2.) If more sexual dimorphism is required they can be short fringes like the Asari head tentacles.

I hope not.

Expectations are for whole new races, from the Cluster.  Bad enough there seems to be a Krogan on board.

But, Bio, bending to the will of the BSN, will include an Asari and a Salarian. ;)

Any more of the "old" races and there won't be room for the local ones to show up in the game. So, what's Andromeda with its new characters and new story without new races? Otherwise, you might as well stick around in the MW galaxy.

I really want a female Turian squadmate that's like the opposite of Garrus. Not your bro, not completely overt about everything, not a follower, etc. Someone with their own motivations, their own morality and their own ideas about what should be done.

A corollary to your suggestion for a female turian squaddie's personality, as you suggest, might be one who is actually (secretly) working against your protag. They are "[n]ot your bro (or rather - not your sis), not completely overt about everything, not a follower, etc."

Zaeed joined Shep's crew, in part, because this would help himself to track down and kill Vido Santiago - his old treacherous co-founder of the Blue Suns. Zaeed, before his loyalty mission, had a bit of a disinterested respect for Shep, although he did admire Shep's combat skills, because he was simply 'taking the job that Cerberus had hired him to do.' He was a bounty hunter for the money; loyalties didn't make much sense to him because he liked to work alone, and maybe because of all the times in the past he had been betrayed. He too had his "own motivations, [his] own morality and [had his] own ideas about what should be done." Shepard made Zaeed see things from Shepard's perspective for their mission. I enjoy being there when a character has an epiphany in their life, that moment that changes their outlook and priorities to look beyond their own selfish interests: Yes - there is a greater good and I want to be a part of the solution; just point me in the right direction.

For a female turian squadmate, who has the personality you describe, could be one who is secretly using the PC for accomplishing their own personal objectives. They joined the crew for their own ulterior motives that are not in line with the protag's mission. Perhaps a few times during assignments or missions, the turian does something (in a cutscene) when the PC isn't looking or aware that they were doing something devious. A story arc that ventures into the 'secretly devious' cast member is found in every soap opera, and yet, many of the most cleverly fiendish 'pals' have become the most well known soap opera characters! And there are people who love them.

Would a character like this be interesting?  Or, is it a matter of 'this wouldn't work' because it goes against the real-life necessity for unit cohesion in a squad; if they aren't working together, then they'll all end up dead. You have a creative and intriguing suggestion in character development for a female turian that's hopping around the Andromedan landscape.

Of course, it can be a native female Andromedan who fills this role.

Now we've had one in ME3 I expect we'll be seeing more. Same for female Salarians and Krogan. My guess is that they just didn't make the character models in ME1 and 2 because they didn't feel it was worth it because there weren't enough Turian characters to justify designing  and implementing the extra character model or something (which I guess was sensible for Krogan what with the plot reasons). Now they've done that though, so it would be pointless to take the step backwards.

It's explained in the making of ME1. Not enough time.

I'm hoping we get a good mix of both sexes for all (applicable) races. It always struck me as really weird that there were no female turians or batarians and relatively few male quarians. At least there were lore reasons for the lack of salarian and krogan females.

That weirdness would only be compounded if it happened in Andromeda. The whole reason any of the original ME races are out there is to colonize. Kinda hard to do that without a sustainable breeding population.

Agreed. I'm seeing all these threads about female Turian, female Drell, etc. Now if BioWare would listen all those threads and go with them, then the female players would really get the short end of the stick, so to speak, when it comes to alien races. Personally I wish to see a male Drell or a male Turian but whatever BW decides, I just hope that they try to produce more or less balanced outcome.

I support chardonney here, I would love to have another male turian. It's not because Garrus was one of the most fav character of the trilogy that BioWare shouldn't come with a new great male turian character, with a very different personality and background.

Now if we have a female Turian, why not, but a good mix of both sexes for every species would be nice. I'm also scared by all those female *insert specie* threads :/

Of course there will be female turians in Andromeda. How would the turians populate Andromeda otherwise?

I also hope to see female Hanar. Hawt.

I wouldn't be overly bothered if none of the original trilogy's non-human races were in the game. It's set in a new Galaxy, it's a chance to do something new, and that includes companions.

Considering our wingman for the original trilogy was a male turian, I would assume if we get another turian in Andromeda,it should indeed be a female. They pretty much got shafted in the original trilogy since in terms of lore, they should have been as numerous as the males. Bioware found a way to write out female Salarians and Krogan, but fem turians were just flat out ignored.

Did people react well to Nyreen?

Turians are the one race where I prefer a female squaddie over a male.  Sharpshooting biotics
