No one checks the Resource thread (I understand, it's a sticky after all) so ...

 

About Kalence,

 

1. For burst-fire weapons like Hornet and Incisor, is the damage number for one burst or one bullet?

 

2. Similarly, for a Destroyer's MFGs, is the damage number for each grenade cast or for the entire MFG volley?

 

3. Which brings me to Cluster Grenades. Never understood what's the better option between one extra shrapnel and increased force & damage. Please explain.

1. Not sure, but I assume per bullet.

 

2. Don't know, sorry.

 

3. Shrapnel has a lot of advantages, but the biggest one is that with the inherent unpredictability of clusters, having three is a much more consistently reliable tool. You can also potentially cause more than one combo detonation, depending on the situation. And in terms of overall damage output, I suspect the third shrapnel will more consistently increase it.

Shrapnel on Cluster Grenades simply means that you toss three at a time instead of two.  The advantages of that should be pretty obvious.

 

Shrapnel on Inferno Grenades is a bit different.  It's supposed to have the ME2 effect where it exploded into several plumes that hit enemies, but in ME3 it's bugged and all the plumes fall straight down.  So when your Inferno Grenade hits the floor, you see nothing at all.  When you throw it at a wall or something, you can see the big bunch of plumes fall straight down.  The bug is visual only, so the extra shrapnel on these will still affect more enemies.  For AoE mook killing/scorewhoring, this is likewise the better choice.

the DPS with and without reload canceling is more informative anyway. unless you want to calculate the damage after armor.

Thanks, but why is the projectile and shot damage different for the Incisor if 1 shot = 1 projectile and 1 burst = 3 shots/projectiles?

I'm not sure about guns, but for grenades the damage listed is per shrapnel/frag.

And take shrapnel on cluster grenades, always, no exception.

Burst weapons have their damage listed per-burst. There is no way that Vindicator does 257 damage per bullet (almost 2x more than Mattock or Harrier) and no way Argus does more than Saber.

yeah it s per burst and per sharpnel and easily seen with the shuriken which doesnt outdamage half the guns of the game. Armor mitigation is a good way to check too...

What do you do for level 6 Reave? 40%DR or extra dmg against armor and barriers?

That evo doesn't make or break anything, you can take what you prefer.

I think I go DR on the Drelldept, but I'm not even sure anymore. I haven't looked at my builds in years.

I use the extra damage VS armor and barriers but, as Deerber said, it's not really game breaking. The Reave + Cluster combo wrecks those defenses anyway.

Someone said something sometime but i don't remember who or what or when.  It was a Bioware guy probably Brojo and he said the bug was visual only.  It was quite some time ago.

You can take it if you're confortable, personally I don't use reave for damage but just as a primer for my gun and grenades so I don't care about its damage. I prefer to add as much protection to my squishy drell adept (and on the justicar too, it's insane how much she can tank in a defensie build).

My Justicar takes the DR because she's just gonna bubblesplode them anyway.  If I was doing soldier build with her I'd probably take the armor damage but that kind of build is boring and not nearly as effective imo

Incisor is probably the best sniper rifle in the game considering its capacity, clip size, ROF, damage (the Kalence value is per bullet). All you need is a stabilization module and the lighter accuracy scope.

Try it out sometime. If the PS3 had the new gen's record function, I'd show it too.

 

For me, there's no reason to be using the Widow/BW/Javelin over the Incisor at all. Also consider this, the BW and Javelin are URs which means that for the majority of players, they will always be at a low level ... which means low capacity and damage.

 

Even the Incisor is an UC compared to the Widow ( R ). Their rarities should have been switched.

Don't take my word for it. There's no shame in slapping on stabilization modules and an accuracy scope. And then tell me if it doesn't fire like a gun in the hands of a MM'd Turian.

 

Most players around here don't need cyclonics/adrenalines/shield cells/power amps to make their kits survive anyway. Might as well try it out.
