As much as I've enjoyed the Mass Effect games from Bioware (my first real entry point to RPG's), the Dragon Age franchise is my personal favorite game series. I have played every DA offering dozens of times before moving on to something else as I await the next chapter. No matter what the upcoming companions happen to be, I do think that it would be nice to include an Avvar, but only time will tell.

 

Characters that I expect to see again (or for the first time) in DA4 do include Harding, Dorian, Maevaris and likely the Inquisitor, Leliana, Cassandra in a framing sequence if nothing else. I would prefer to be surprised about any other possible returnees from previous games.

Not Leliana, though. Three games, a book two books, and her own DLC are more than enough. I'm sure "Divine Victoria" will be namedropped no matter who she is.

I think if Dorian is involved Mae will definitely be an advisor or follower. She is super involved with whatever he's doing that it would be weird to not see her. I think she fits a Josephine type role for Tevinter.
