Ello,

I'm just wondering if the epilogue or endgame changes in any way if I choose to skip certain areas like Crestwood or Emprise du Lion. Come to think of it, the same question but then with quests. Does me skipping certain quests change endgame?

Kind regards.

Nope.

But one small line of dialogue of Teagan's changes in Trespasser if you skip Caer Bronach. Also, one short line of Mother Giselle's doesn't play in Trespasser if you didn't take Emprise du Lion.

I haven't played the trespasser dlc, so I don't know about that. I went to Hinterlands, Crestwood and Western Approach. Never went to any of the other areas. Nothing changed for the endgame

What does Teagan say if you don't have that keep? I haven't ever not had it, and I haven't been able to find that version anywhere.

"You established a military presence on Ferelden soil, specifically the Hinterlands outside Redcliffe." - Arl Teagan

The response to Teagan is the same as Caer Bronach, defending the local Fereldans from bandits. This is even though the Hinterlands presence was done to save them from warring mages and templars, and despite the fact that presence can allow you to defeat the Venatori occupying Redcliffe Castle. <_<

No, he says the Inquisition's help was appreciated, but their goal was accomplished two years ago and they're still there. It's like Star Wars: everyone agreed to give Palpatine emergency powers, but he never relinquished them. The formation of yet another empire is probably one of Ferelden's biggest fears.

And let's be honest, it's completely understandable that he's focusing on the Inquisition being around Redcliffe. That's his home/responsibility. The Inquisition either ignored a Tevinter force occupying his home to instead recruit the templars, or the Inquisition took the occupying force away without any real consequences happening to them (the mages), who then became somewhat heroes for helping close the Breach!

Do you mean you've never been to the other maps, or just not in your first play through?

Agreed. Teagan's character was assassinated in Trespasser. He should have known better.

That's a separate argument though. Teagan's disagreement at that point in the game was that the presence was established at all. The Inquisitor even explains the reason for the presence (poorly).

I disagree, but in any case, Teagan states none of these things. His problem is that you established the presence on Ferelden soil. He does not address that you've stayed there for two years, or who you decided to help.

I can understand some of his concern. But My Inquisitor had no idea about the Tevinter Mages when he went to the Templars, since they aren't revealed until after Haven. As for Inquisiton forces occuping a fort, the place was over run by bandits and undead, and he did nothing. Just as he did nothing at the Crossroads. In fact NO ONE does anything to help at the Crossroads, not even the King. A King who is a Grey Warden I might add.....Wardens whom he also rants about over unfoundered suspicions.

Sorry OP for hijacking your thread.

One last minor question! I swear I'll let the thread rest after this!

Are you talking about a specific Inquisitor? Because I thought it was possible to visit the mages in Redcliffe before deciding which faction to get. This is when you find out Alexius is there, what Fiona did, and you go back to Skyhold because this was an unforeseen obstacle.

It's possible to just go straight to the templars after Val Royeaux without visiting Redcliffe first.

Yes you can do that. But My canon Inquisitor who went to the Templars, sensed something amiss with the Lord Seeker in Val royeaux, and so never visited Redcliffe until after Haven was destroyed. Thus, he had no knowledge of the Mages being over taken by Tevinter cultists.

I wonder if Alexius needs to travel back in time if the Herald decides to go after the templars and ignore the mages entirely.

Hmm......that's a good question, which will no doubt never be answered. Haha.
