Thank you dmcdeavi & ESREVE12 !! Your step by step guide above fixed everything and I now have access to all downloads. I didn't even have to wait 24 hours, or even 5 minutes. Cheers!!
Indeed! kudos to ESREVE12!!! I did forget the email/re-verify bit. I also did that.
sounds like it is working for some.
excellent!

=( so freakin sad. I was sure this was it, my EA acct was unverified too, but that didn't fix it for me.ESREVE12 wrote...
We just may have found a fix.
- I went to my profile page, unregistered my ME 2 CE and then re-registered it.
- Made sure I was logged both into Bioware profile site and EA home site (not the store)
- I also noticed on the EA site that my account was unverified, so i asked for a verification email from them to verify my account.
I bought it off Steam for XP, can anyone help? Oh, and it worked long enough for me to register this account (13 days ago), but after that, no more. =[

Hi all. For me it was also related to an obscure internet speed tweak that seems to disable EA's sites. Here's the solution I found (works for Vista and Win 7):
1) Click start, go to 'All Programs', then 'Accessories', look for 'Command Prompt'.
2) Right-click on Command Prompt, click on 'Run As Administrator', if you get a security prompt, just choose continue or allow.
3) in command prompt, type, "netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled".
4) Exit Command prompt, and your game should be working.
This applies to any EA game that attempts to connect to an EA profile online. I'm very curious WHY it has this effect.
Hope it helps!
Thanks a lot it works fine now:)

This issue is caused by false lines written in the hosts file.
In order to fix this, you need to delete some lines in the hosts file. Heres a step by step guide.
1. Go to Start Menu and open up Computer, once there, open up your hard drive. which currently has windows installed on it. (For most people, that will be C:)
2. If Windows was installed on the hard drive you selected, you will see a folder named Windows, open that up.
3. Now look for the System32 folder, open that up. Now look for the drivers folder and open that. Then at last, the etc folder. The directory should now be something like C:Windows/System32/drivers/etc
4. Inside you will see the hosts file. Open up Notepad which is located in accesories (right click and select Run as Administator if on Vista or Win7)
5. Go to File on Notebook and select Open, now go to the same place shown at No.3. Make sure you have Notepad set to look for all files, you can change this by clicking on the arrow next to Text Documents (*.txt) in the bottom right corner and making that All.
6. Once in that Directory, now you can open up the hosts file with Notepad, once you have done this you now need to delete every line in that file which has the word EA in it and also starts with 127.
7. Save the file and then quit notepad and everything else that I have told you to open in this guide.
You should now be able to use Cerberus.
Happy gaming!

My friend, if I ever get around to having children, I might just name my firstborn after you. Though I don't think he/she will be happy about that...
Oh well, they were bound to hate me during puberty anyways.

Go to control Panel,
you should see the search bar in the top right
type: Windows Features, Programs and Features should pop up,
select Turn Windows Features on or off, you should see a box blocked it for Microsoft .NET framework 3.5.1
select the plus sign and check the box for both windows communication foundation HTTP
Activation and Non-HTTP Activation,
press ok and give it a try
Hope it works for you like it did me, best of luck.
