Thank you dmcdeavi & ESREVE12 !! Your step by step guide above fixed everything and I now have access to all downloads. I didn't even have to wait 24 hours, or even 5 minutes. Cheers!!

Indeed!  kudos to ESREVE12!!!  I did forget the email/re-verify bit.  I also did that.
sounds like it is working for some.

I can't get cerberus to work, I've tried unregister and reregister, I would try to log into the EA home website, but I get this error:

System Error

System Error. Please try again later.

Well if people are still having troubles call EA support around 9am~5pm(?). It took me 30mins to get to a damn person(!), and another 30mins talking to the man but he set up my account with a Cerberus code, which allowed me to log on successfully. Don't know if the servers where actually down or if it was because my Cerberus activation card was from a collectors edition with the numbers starting 16.

Either ways I'm very satisfied and enjoyed the game 1st play through already.

We just may have found a fix.

  • I went to my profile page, unregistered my ME 2 CE and then re-registered it.
  • Made sure I was logged both into Bioware profile site and EA home site (not the store)
  • I also noticed on the EA site that my account was unverified, so i asked for a verification email from them to verify my account.

=(  so freakin sad.  I was sure this was it, my EA acct was unverified too, but that didn't fix it for me.  Also, I can't re-register anymore WTH?!

I bought it off Steam for XP, can anyone help?  Oh, and it worked long enough for me to register this account (13 days ago), but after that, no more. =[

1 more thing... For support, where do I go?  Steam or EA?

I am having trouble as well, this is very frustrating, None of the above methods have worked for me. I shouldn't have to spend hours trying to get game content loaded...and still no resolve. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED.

I'm having this problem as well. I tried the suggestions mentioned here, even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, even deleted the profile data to force it to ask me for my login info. It hits the Welcome aspect for this and then minute I hit continue I get that message so it's not an issue with my account.

Hi all. For me it was also related to an obscure internet speed tweak that seems to disable EA's sites. Here's the solution I found (works for Vista and Win 7):

1) Click start, go to 'All Programs', then 'Accessories', look for 'Command Prompt'.

2) Right-click on Command Prompt, click on 'Run As Administrator', if you get a security prompt, just choose continue or allow.

3) in command prompt, type, "netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled".

4) Exit Command prompt, and your game should be working.

This applies to any EA game that attempts to connect to an EA profile online. I'm very curious WHY it has this effect.

Hope it helps!

Thanks a lot it works fine now:)

How to fix this issue:

This issue is caused by false lines written in the hosts file.
In order to fix this, you need to delete some lines in the hosts file. Heres a step by step guide.

1. Go to Start Menu and open up Computer, once there, open up your hard drive. which currently has windows installed on it. (For most people, that will be C:)

2. If Windows was installed on the hard drive you selected, you will see a folder named Windows, open that up.

3. Now look for the System32 folder, open that up. Now look for the drivers folder and open that. Then at last, the etc folder. The directory should now be something like C:Windows/System32/drivers/etc

4. Inside you will see the hosts file. Open up Notepad which is located in accesories (right click and select Run as Administator if on Vista or Win7)

5. Go to File on Notebook and select Open, now go to the same place shown at No.3. Make sure you have Notepad set to look for all files, you can change this by clicking on the arrow next to Text Documents (*.txt) in the bottom right corner and making that All.

6. Once in that Directory, now you can open up the hosts file with Notepad, once you have done this you now need to delete every line in that file which has the word EA in it and also starts with 127.

7. Save the file and then quit notepad and everything else that I have told you to open in this guide.

You should now be able to use Cerberus.

Happy gaming!

My friend, if I ever get around to having children, I might just name my firstborn after you.  Though I don't think he/she will be happy about that...

Oh well, they were bound to hate me during puberty anyways.

I recently started having this issue (never had it before and already put around 15 hours into the game). My hosts file has no EA entries in it, and the tcp tweak didn't work either; any ideas anyone?

Have you tried all of the tcp tweaks? Or just the first?

Ran the batch file on the first page of this thread, restoring everything to default, and then I went to the cmd prompt and did the 4 tweaks mentioned on page 2. No change.

I tried your solution, however, it doesn't apply to me since my hosts file has no EA entries in it.

I had issues getting Cerberus network to work so I could validate Kasumi dlc I also couldn't login into Dragon Age Origins seeing as the login button was grayed out, I have a PC and use windows 7 so I hope this will help vista/Xp users some what.

Go to control Panel,

you should see the search bar in the top right

type: Windows Features, Programs and Features should pop up,

select Turn Windows Features on or off, you should see a box blocked it for Microsoft .NET framework 3.5.1

select the plus sign and check the box for both windows communication foundation HTTP

Activation and Non-HTTP Activation,

press ok and give it a try

Hope it works for you like it did me, best of luck.

only posted it because I tried everything in forums and never found a solution until I was trying to correct something else that wasn't game related and for some stupid reason it worked for ME2 and DAO. It's just another option to consider now thats all.
