Thanks GalenMarek for your answer. But I've figured it out by myself in the meantime. You've got to forward port 42100 and ports 15200-15300 as tcp-OUT in your router's configuration. That did the trick for me.

I'm getting the timed out message now when ever I try to connect to the cerebus network now. I'm sorry but I should not have to be connected to the internet whenever I play this game. I am for the most part but it causes ridiculous problems such as this. You developers have to realize that there are pirates out there but nothing you do will stop them, so move on and stop punishing us who buy the game.

Having the same issues here, when i log in it asks for my guardians email (wth? why does it assume i'm underage in an M rated game) and then if i click past that it immediately goes to timed out/interrupted.

I created a new account just to see what would happen and am able to easily and repeatedly log in with that account (which is a pity as i've already redeemed all my codes)

Talking with a rep now, hopefully he can help.

yeh exact same here bout ready to give up

Hello, I've same problem.

I search about command of Jenyar and I found these in complement :

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global congestionprovider=none
netsh interface tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

Maybe the use of all of them helps someone.

But not for me ...

I had the same problem, untill I tried these.. I.. I really owe you.. Because it worked just fine for me. But it seems a bit wierd, all of us.. Or at least me, played the game two days ago, but earlier it just wouldn't work.. I can't imagine it has anything to do with any of our systems.. It has to be EA or something...
My OS has not updated since i last played so it can't be that.. But hey, what do I know..

Anyways.. Thank you so much, I would hug you if you were here!

What do these do, exactly? I hope they won't mess up my system.Posted Image Anyway, I've tried most of the 'solutions' posted here, but none of them work. Perhaps the little ****s at Bioware thought it would be fun to program an error into the game that frustrates legit buyers. ...or it's EA's fault, both are equally as evil.

Thanks for the response.

Did you wait 24 hours after logging back into both sites before trying your cerberus code again?
And how did you enter the code (through bioware site or in-game)?

-Thanks

EDIT**

We just may have found a fix.

  • I went to my profile page, unregistered my ME 2 CE and then re-registered it.
  • Made sure I was logged both into Bioware profile site and EA home site (not the store)
  • I also noticed on the EA site that my account was unverified, so i asked for a verification email from them to verify my account.
  • Logged out of both sites (Bioware and EA home)
  • Logged into both sites
  • Maybe 15 minutes later decided to load up ME2
  • Went into options and turned off auto-login
  • Went to activate Cerberus, and it worked!
I'm not sure how many of the above steps are actually necessary for getting Cerberus to work, there seems to be a lot of variables in there. But I recommend in giving them all a go and hope for the best. Maybe someone else can find a efficient means of getting it to work.
For now, this seems to work.

Good Luck to everyone else with this problem, and feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions. Thanks for the help dmcdeavi

THIS! I tried everything else and this worked! I haven't  been able to connect to cerberus for the last few months, even though i had a good run after getting the CE on release day.

THANKYOU SO MUCH!

(On Behalf of Dalethfc, as back in hospital for more tests)

This issue was sorted very quickly for dalethfc. Before he left for Hospital he raised a ticket and

got me to monitor it.

After a couple of posts, back and forth, the problem is resolved. Support needs to do something on your accounts to reset the login.

Now I can get LoTSB for him.

I tried ESREVE12's solution just as I remembered running a TCP Optimizer as part of a troubleshooting step. After reverting those settings back to Windows default. I found that I was able to connect, but it could also be entirely ESREVE12's solution, haha.

I had this same problem, but it was related to my anti-virus program. By reducing the security settings to allow all programs outgoing internet access, I corrected the problem. This may not help everyone.

I've been trying all these solutions, short of calling EA, but nothing seems to be working. The game ran normally last week, but now, nothing. I didn't install anything, didn't change anything, so I have no idea why everything went haywire.

The fix is this:

1) Click start, go to 'All Programs', then 'Accessories', look for 'Command Prompt'.

2) Right-click on Command Prompt, click on 'Run As Administrator', if you get a security prompt, just choose continue or allow.

3) in command prompt, type, "netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled".

4) Exit Command prompt, and your game should be working.

netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

This fixed my "Communication with the Mass Effect 2 server was interrupted or has timed out. Please try again later." error.

Thanks!

dude i totally figured it out ,  while you long process was apreciated , i figured out it was unessicary  ,

you see my ea account was created in dragon age : origins , so i never delt with activation and email verification on my account ,  and that was the answer ,  you only get this server interuption if your EA account is not activated and your email is not verified on the account, so you got it right , but for folks that are having issues  try just verifying your email adress on your EA account ( or activating your ea account it you never got an activation email  when you created it in a  previous game)  no need for teh long process you went through ,  but all teh same thanks  you stepby step is what made me go to EA'sweb page and see that my account wasn't activated , and further more after i did activate it  i had to verify my email on it.    but any way just posting this so others can try this first before doing a hoop jumping process.

The answer was posted on the Gamefaq forums, and it worked just fine for me.... It apparently happens to most Win7 users and some in vista., here is the link and the steps:

thank res1i3js for the answer, I just found his comment =P:wizard:

I am experiencing this issue as well. I've tried many of the cmd prompt fixes yet nothing has worked. After taking a week break with no known changes to my desktop this error has begun to occur only on my ME2 login. DA still runs fine.

I run windows XP home.

Just wanted to add my two cents. I was having the exact same problem as the OP and I tried all of the suggested fixes to no avail. After a good hour and a half of troubleshooting, I noticed there was a progress bar in my EA account profile that read 25%. Apparently, I hadn't finished the account setup process (there are some blue links to the right of that bar directing you to the tabs that you need to access and perform actions in (my games, contact preferences etc) - I had to sign up for the newsletter for instance before I could finish the registration process, which is kind of silly if you ask me - I ended up un-checking the subscription right after the process completed).

Anyways, after the blue progress bar registered 100% I tried to validate the dlc again by logging into the Cerebrus network and it worked.

Cheers,
MB

p.s. I'm using the steam version with windows xp

I'm also having this problem now, after having no problems for months. I have tried the stuff in this thread and none of it has worked for me so far. I can still play the game, and have been, but I am concerned that it might effect something later on.

If you are otherwise able to maintain an internet connection (as in: you are able to connect to the internet with a browser), then you may have something like PeerGuardian/PeerBlock running which is blocking the Cerberus connection.

I have to turn off PeerBlock to be able to connect to Cerberus, otherwise I get a "timeout" message.

It is possible to add an exception to PeerBlock (whitelist) to allow the Cerberus connection, but it's just simpler to turn it off.

i tried this and it didnt help iv had the game for a while and was never able to access the cerberus network and i want to authorize the DLC that came with the game its very frusturating
