Instead of just sitting around and waiting for you to romance them, two of your companions should be together from the start of the game.
Male human and female Qunari would be fun to see, ike Balthier and Fran from FF12.

Yeah it would be cool to have a set of companions that were in a committed relationship with each other from the start of the game and not available for the player to romance. I think it would also be cool to have a companion who had kids.
I second this
Would be fun to have a set of companions that are in a relationship with each other already. Been asking for something similar in the MEA thread in some of the companion related threads myself.
Fran is a Viera for those that may not know.. Late in the game it appears Princess Ashe has a crush on Vaan.
I nominate Finn and Ariane from Witch Hunt.

While I think having companions in an established relationship and/or a companion with a kid are good ideas, there is one minor problem for me. Since there will most likely be 6 romances in DA4 (2 gay, 2 bi, 2 straight) that already makes 6 main characters romanceable, and 2 more would be in a relationship with each other. That's a huge portion of main characters (possibly even all of them) that can either be romanced or are in a relationship.
While not necessarily a bad thing, I do think there should be some companions/main characters who aren't in relationships for whatever reason, and that also opens up possibilities for types of characters that not many people would want to romance, like spirits and constructs.

There's also the chance that atleast two of the romances would possibly be non-companions
I think 6 companions is fine. 2 warriors, 2 rogues, 2 mages. Other romances could be with non companion characters like Cullen was.
I really like this idea. We would get nice couple and it would save us some drama connected with PC not being special snowflake for potential LIs. At least I hope so.
It would be interesting to have another Aveline-ish companion who's spouse isn't killed this time or even better, both of them being companions
I'm always up for more Aveline-like companions.
I nominate Finn and Ariane from Witch Hunt.
I like the way you think, sir.
I'm having flashbacks to Jaheira and Khalid.
Ahh my child of Bhaal's mixed feelings on discovery of Khalid's corpse meaning the amazing Jaheira was single once more.
I want to be a pimp in DA4 and bring two people together. Now that's a game I'd play.

Like Hawke?

Can he pimp his companions?

I like your idea and of course they should have beautiful hair in DA 4 ![]()
Sure, but I hope Bioware would go creative with it and not just have two companions that are lovers. It could also be companions that are lovers with someone outside the party, or maybe even someone who's loyal to the "enemy"
It would also be interesting to see Bioware write a romance for a character already in a relationship at some point, some people dig that kind of intrigue.

Well, if wingman counts, since Aveline would otherwise fumble her way to Spinster City.

Come to think about it would be nice to see the return of Finn and his sweetie Ariane-last I saw they them they appeared to be sweet on each other.
I always suspected those two stayed together.

The World of Thedas: Volume Two confirms that they did!
The World of Thedas: Volume Two confirms that they did!
Wow, really? I didn't even catch that!
Their story is in the side bar on page 92, and it's delightful
. (It's nice to have an explanation for why the Amazing Tevinter Prophecy Statue said she'd never see Finn again that doesn't involve him dying horribly.)
