Andraste_Reborn, I have The World of Thedas volume one and haven't purchase volume two yet but, its second on my to buy list after DA:I Game of The Year. Gotta play "Trespasser" since it looks like a very interesting game.
Glad to hear those two stayed together. ![]()

Their story is in the side bar on page 92, and it's delightful
. (It's nice to have an explanation for why the Amazing Tevinter Prophecy Statue said she'd never see Finn again that doesn't involve him dying horribly.)
Spoil me...what is the explanation?
BTW, I played the heck out of FFXII and wished Basch was romance-able.
I just hooked Aveline up with Donnic again while my Hawke tried to flirt with her despite her romance, Anders, standing right there. ![]()

There's also the chance that atleast two of the romances would possibly be non-companions
Dear god I hope not. Another cycle of people parroting "they get the same amount of content as Companion Romances!!!11!!!" despite it being hilariously untrue would suck. If it's the extra romances for straight girls, then fine, but don't make people who want a LI who can actually travel with them be stuck with one option again... ![]()

This is not something I really want. If it was done well, then I guess I would be okay with it, but it's not what I would prefer. Maybe if both them weren't companions (one of them could be an advisor or something) then it would perhaps be more bearable. I'm not really into that sort of relationship drama. I do like the romances, don't get me wrong, but somehow the idea of the game focusing on the relationships of my companions isn't very appealing.

I dunno, didn't Cullen do pretty well?
Granted, I've only watched his romance on YouTube, but he at least seemed to get plenty of content. I hear more complaints about Josie.

Cullen is Cullen. He could have been in-game only as a Standee cut-out and a series of letters and gals would still be filling up their DeviantArt accounts with drawings of him. He's also an extra, one of 4 options straight female characters got. If they cared about having a Companion LI they still had 3 (okay 2 for non-elves) options. The other demographics that got a non-companion LI option had one option that could actually travel with them and got banter and quests and stuff. And if you didn't much care for the one option, well....
And to be explicit, yes I am complaining about Josephine, mostly.

According to Youtube video lengths, Cullen and Josephine did get as much or even more romance content as some of the companions.
Non-companions being romances is going to happen. It happened in ME2. It happened in ME3. It happened in DAI.

Have you watched any of them? There's a Cass Romance video that is over an hour. Big chunks of it are the Inquisitor running through areas and Skyhold. The length of the videos on Youtube mean basically nothing. The Josephine videos are padded, and they are still just five minutes longer than the shortest videos (Iron Bull's compilations seem to be the only one that is consistent shorter than Josie's.)
Sure there's going to be non-companion Romances. But they should be extras. LGBT players were not as a whole pleased that the new gay/lesbian exclusive LIs were both non-companions. Kelly Chambers exists in an eternal state of being and not being considered a real LI... because she's not a companion. It matters to people.

My Hawke did too. Thus was the beginning and end of her love-life ![]()
As for non-companions being romances, I'm not thrilled about it, even if they have a good amount of content. Being companions adds so much more to me, being able to hear their thoughts on missions, interactions with other companions, actual reactions from other characters on your romance choice, and just the novelty of being a Battle Couple. Part of me even finds that romantic. ...The Krogan part, I guess? ![]()
Then of course, you get to hear them totally freak out if you go down in combat, which is both entertaining and shows how much they care.

I concur! Though... Carver loudly declaring that "your pet elf has fallen" when Fenris got KO'd was a little much. >_____>

Ha, wow. I've never heard that. Then again, I've only played DA2 once, didn't have Carver, and didn't romance anyone either, so... But yeah, that's pretty harsh, especially coming form your brother!

Despite having finished DA2 eight times, I'd never heard that either! (I don't think I've ever had Carver and Fenris in the party together for any significant length of time - warriors that use the same weapon type just tend to tread on each other's toes. Especially since I always played DA2 with friendly fire enabled.)

Yes I have. Even watched from the same channel so the same rules of what counts would apply.
Even if there is only one companion whose romance is shorter, that still means that non-companions got as much resources as the companions. Not that there was any doubt, since Bioware explicitly stated such.
People are never going to be pleased as a whole. We are individuals. There were many that love Samantha and Steve, even more than the gay companions they got in DAI.
And Kelly is definitely a real LI. She grants the Paramour achievement in ME3 if you continue the romance from ME2.

The part about you not liking there being non-companion LIs.
As for the things you like about companion LIs, I see no reason that those can't happen with non-companion LIs other than the battle couple thing. Especially in games like Mass Effect where we have communicators.

It would depend on the amount of companions we have and the distribution of the romances for me. Like other people I've said, I don't think I'd be super happy if 6 companions were romanceable and the remaining 2 were in a relationship.
I'm still more in favor of non-romanced companions hooking up ala Fenris with Isabela and Iron Bull with Dorian.
He's a ******. I love him.

I know this is completely off topic but I love how everyone's screaming their lungs out and Fenris is just.... casual. Like he's just adding at the end of a conversation. "Oh yeah by the way, your brother's fallen." Also, **** carver for saying 'pet-elf', I knew he's the jealous younger sibling, but damn, have some respect man xD
