Minigames, qtes and constructions

How would you feel about having random optional minigames? These minigames could revolve around ship malfunctions, planetary disturbances, drama betwixt crewmates, piracy etc.
How would you feel about quick time events? Such as when exploring a planet with or without the mako they could occur when you tread over weak cliffs or ambushes or even upon thin ice.
How would you feel about constructing large planetary bodies? For instance your very own death star or star killer base or how about small hubs that are like omega, these small hubs could provide income, fuel, information, recruits etc.

I doubt they'd be adding new stuff at this point, just fixing / cutting out what's there, but timed mini events, exploration events, little puzzles to solve, archaeology hunts and crew mate dramas I would love, as long as they were not required to finish the story / main events of the game.

No, as in space related or planetary related disturbances or even crew morale disturbances. Crew fights, ship malfunctions, huge planetary storms or even cosmic storms and so on. Although probing should be included albeit in a more sophisticated mannerMini-games like probing for resources mini-games?

why not? QTES aren't that bad especially if not over used and done proper. If there is even a single QTE in the SP experience, I'm not touching it.

It's preferable to have a fully playable part than just a cutscene with QTE's, but you're not gonna touch the game if it have qte's? You must be a fan.

With the delay announcement it brings both saddness and more time, more time for the bettering of the game.
Felt it.

No - they are... they really, really, really are that bad.
Did I enjoy the Witcher 2, yes... however, did I thoroughly hate the Kayren fight and nearly give up playing the game at that point? Yes... bloody QTEs. Hated the bare-knuckle fights as well for the same reason. I really don't like QTEs.
Now monkey, press the button now - DO IT NOW MONKEY!
Well done, have a banana, you can continue with the game now.
... p*** off.

FFXIII-2 was the first time I had to "be fast at the controls" and I hated it with a passion. Never got more than 2 hours into that game.

QTEs are the scourge of gaming.
Every time a QTE is mentioned a whole population of kitten die.
Every time a QTE is considered a romance thread is opened on the BSN.
Every time a QTE is played joy, merryness and playfulness is sucked out of the world forever.
Every time someone pays for something containing a QTE the world becomes 10% dumber.

Whatever they do, I just hope is isn't as repetitive as it was in ME1 and 2!

I'd kind of like to see some mini games that are purely there for fun - as in not linked to gathering resources/opening doors etc. Like in ME3, did anyone else want to be able to join in the pokers games? Something along the lines of Quasar but better, or like the Gwent card game in Witcher 3.
It's not a deal breaker or anything but could be a nice little extra for when you want a break from shooting stuff.

Yup, like in Red Dead Redemption, enjoyed the card games in that. Was awful at it but still.

I like games in my games so I would be fine with this. I enjoyed the hacking mini game in me2 and didn't despise the planet scanning system like many here did. *adjusts hipster shades*
Actually, the hacking tool in ME1 was pretty fun! That's one thing I liked in that game. Same goes for Skyrim lockpicking (I swear there needs to be a competition to see who can unlock master locks the fastest).

Random optional mini-games are fairly cool, particularly if they're presented in the manner you describe. Ship drama, crew drama, etc are all good things that give a verisimilitude of a living world. Plus, the hacking mini-game was kind of fun in ME2.
QTEs - The bane of modern gaming and the first thing that should be chinned off from any game design, accompanied by the person making the suggestion being given 'percussive therapy' until they realise what they did wrong. Compare and contrast Tomb Raider (2013) with Rise of the Tomb Raider (2016): TR was loaded with QTEs and 'rail sequences with QTEs', which were utterly infuriating and detracted massively from the game experience. ROTTR, on the other hand, had much fewer QTEs and felt like a much better game because of it (the end boss notwithstanding). I cannot stand being told I must press 'X'........... NOW...... To continue the cinematic cutscene that I wasn't paying attention to because I was wondering when the next button prompt was going to appear on-screen. Cutscenes as story are nice, a reward for your efforts up to that point, whereas cutscenes as interactive experiences are terrible things. Any QTE associated with a cutscene should be an optional action (Paragon/Renegade interrupts in previous ME games) that changes things, but is not essential for the story to continue.
Large planetary bodies - not so convinced by this. Personally, assuming this is the ship we use, I'd much prefer something akin to ME2's upgrades crossed with XCom 2's 'Avenger' expansion/building. Allow me to create an 'Armoury' that can be staffed with NPCs/companions and allows access to upgrades for weapons; Science Lab for better medi-gel/armour; comms array for more side-missions, etc.

Arcomage was kinda neat. Too bad the main game was horrible.

I think the Citadel DLC had the best approach to mini-games and future titles should take a similar approach. ME2 handled mini-games very poorly since they got tedious very quickly I don't miss them.

I'm getting the game regardless. I said, and I quote: "If there is even a single QTE in the SP experience, I'm not touching it." Meaning that if the campaign has any QTEs in it, I'm not playing the campaign. There'll be more to do, though, so don't worry about me and instead come down off that high horse.
