Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place but when I go to "The Little Things You Just Discovered..." it says "You cannot reply to this topic".  Please move is necessary.

Here’s something I’ve just discovered.  I’m playing through ME3 for the third time and I have always done the play through this way:- Sur’Kesh, Attican Traverse, Turian Platoon, Turian Bomb, Tuchanka, Citadel 2 and then Perseus Veil to get Tali.

But I think I can do it this way and get Tali in my squad early.  Please let me know if I’m right.

Do Sur’Kesh then Tuchanka, Citadel 2, Perseus Veil to get Tali, then go back and do Turian Platoon, Turian Bomb and Attican Traverse.

Doing it this way, I can take Tali with me to do the two Turian missions and meet Grunt.

I know there’s a timer on Turian Bomb mission but I think it only starts when you do Turian Platoon.

Cheers

Other missions like Jack's are timed as well so if you leave them until after the coup then you won't be able to do them. I think the maximum you can do is one Tuchanka mission with Tali if you get her at the earliest point possible. I'm pretty sure that Bomb mission is timed whether you do it's pre-requisite or not. It's been a while since I've played so I could even be wrong on that. I just know at least one Tuchanka mission is possible with her since I remember her screaming about spiders on Grunt's mission.

I'm pretty sure you have to do one of Attican Traverse or Turian Platoon to unlock Priority Tuchanka (i.e. to get the conversation where Mordin tells you about the Shroud).  I don't think, therefore, that you can do Priority Tuchanka right after Priority Sur'Kesh.

Turian Platoon and Turian Bomb become unavailable after Priority: Tuchanka. The bomb goes off, and you lose Eve (if she survived the cure) and a good chunk of krogan support.

And you *can* unlock Priority Tuchanka without doing the Turian Bomb mission.

I usually play the game this way to maximize my scene with Kaidan.

Vancouver>Mars>Menae>Sur'kesh>Grissom Academy>Krogan Team>Benning>Tuchanka>Citadel Coup>Rannoch

Sometimes I save N7 missions until after Citadel Coup because I like doing them with James and Kaidan. Its possible with Tali but some of the War Asset item receiver sometimes disappear after Rannoch arc. Turian Platoon + Cerberus Bomb is time-based only if you trigger the initial quest, the bomb won't go off if you save the two mission for later. Tali will have extra conversation at the engineering after both missions.

If you want Tali early, try this.

= Earth

- Mars

- Citadel

- Menae

- Sur'Kesh

- grissom academy only if you want to save the students. My suggestion is complete it

- save the turian platoon

- cure/sabotage genophage

- Citadel coup

- recruit Tali. DO NOT COMPLETE DREADNOUGHT

- take Tali and Ashley/Kaidan to disarm turian bomb

- take Tali on the Rachni mission for some funny dialogue from her

- now go complete the dreadnought mission if you like

All the N7 missions will still be available after recruiting Tali. So if you want to bring her on those, go ahead

Turian Platoon and Turian Bomb become unavailable after Priority: Thessia.

fixed

The Bomb goes off 3 missions after Turian platoon, so if you want to have Tali there and on Grunt's mission, use Mike's guide.

The only thing I'd do differently is to wait until after Priority: Rannoch to do Grunt's mission. IIRC Tali has something to say after this mission, which is blocked if Ranoch is not yet completed.

Turian bomb can be done after Thessia.

- Complete Rachni

- cure/ sabotage genophage

- Citadel coup

- recruit Tali

- complete any mission with Tali as long as its not Turian platoon

- after talking with the asari councilor, complete Turian platoon. If Thessia is completed first, Turian platoon mission is removed from the map

- complete Thessia

- complete Sanctuary

- go back to Tuchanka to disarm the bomb. Doing it this way will give the player extra dialogue from Hackett

Thanks for all the replies.

I thought I was doing it wrong.  I’m now following Mike’s suggestion.  It was interesting to take Tali on Grunt’s cave mission.

Tali don’t like spiders…

Cheers everyone.

already been stated but yeah, I always go Menae>Sur'Kesh>either/or Turian Platoon/Attican Traverse>Tuchanka>Citadel>Perseus Veil. Whether or not you detour to do Grissom depends on whether you care about saving Jack and some War Assets, but it dissapears after Citadel II. I'll more often than not pick up Javik right after Menae as well (unless I wanna hear Tali/VS dialouge on Eden Prime), because his mission is like 10 mins long and he livens up the early game squad.

Will usually have Tali about 6-7 hours into a 30ish hour playthrough assuming I'm not speedrunning, and am doing all the DLCs as usual.

Forget the suit rat, get legion first!

Or not at all  , considering said Master Race representative does the same job moar better, and simulatneousy gives the ship glorious quariantech shield upgrades, without me having to deal with the utterly terrifying threat of This in the back of my mind (well at least not from more things than that ship cancer Derperus installed).

worth it once just for this, tho. Did it on a speedrun once where I only recruited the mandatory squadmates, did like 5 irrelevant sidemissions after Horizon, then picked up Toaster and Tali in that order.
