Did you try turning it on and back off again

Agreed, leaving the PS3 off is probably the best advice.   :D

I was just about to say that Q5 is the only one i know about who had this problem.

You even tried to have someone else host, and drop out before wave 1 started, so you could piggyback in right?

No have not explicitly tested this.  Will give it a try when I get a chance but probably not for any meaningful sample size.

I don't think I ever actually tried that (though I remember the suggestion being made), Prestacious said I could just do the challenge on Dagger Haz instead so that's what I ended up doing (I never have any trouble loading into the Hazard version).

@donkbettor- if you're having the same issue, I tend to have much more luck loading into Dagger if even one other person is in the lobby, so ark's suggestion would be a viable option. Or you could use the Hazard version, if that sounds like too much monkey business... Welcome to the messed up world of ME3 on lolps3.  <_<

I just got 3 disconnections in a row confirming the Dagger curse. In the first one, I dropped into a lobby with only one player hosting a Dagger / Reapers gold game. We start like that but I lost connection before the beginning of the game. So I search again for UUG and drop into the same preset lobby. We ready up again... and I lost connection.

I did a final try and dropped this time into an UUG lobby, hosted by an other guy. We start just the two of us but we get... Dagger, and I'm disconnected.

It seems that some people simply can't host Dagger (whatever the character they're playing).

U are right Loufi. Had that also in some of my games. The majority of lobbies works with dagger, but in a small minority there is a wave 1 drop. London sometimes also. I've to verify whether such host always also drop, or if it is simply another lobby member's presence.

Since it happens with the same people ,it can only be due to local setup. Since dagger Was an original map, it would've thoroughly tested and played, also the ps3 updates happens regularly ( if someone does not explicitly disable that). Mb these individuals explicitly disabled stuff, or something as simple as all their ports not opened up.

More reasons to preset Condor instead. Excellent.

Yeah, I posted earlier that I seem to have no problems soloing on Dagger, but I don't host enough open games to know for sure that I can do so regularly with no problem. I think I remember hosting at least one game there with q5 though, so I think I'm ok.

But what I've noticed most since reading this thread is that when I go searching, all my "you have lost connection" messages have happened at the moment I've landed on Dagger. This got me to reflecting that it is, and always has been, Dagger where that type of disconnection mostly happens. I'm sure they'll fix it in the next patch  ;)

Interesting.

Truthfully, I've run into Dagger a lot more than normal, lately. I've actually commented on it a few times, but I'm in a statistically anomalous phase where about 30% of my games occur on one of the two Dagger maps.

But I've never had a disconnect problem that I've noticed (beyond the normal increase when compared to Xbox 360.) In most cases, I would have been loading into a host's game, but a good number of the games were when I was hosting, as well.

I'll pay attention from here on out, and see if I can detect any pattern. Otherwise, it seems to me that this is a PS3 issue that I am somehow managing to avoid having.

Psst. Wrong donk. She goes by "Honourable Bigot" again. This is Donkbettor. Edit: Which doesn't mean that you shouldn't add him. I'm sure he's nice!

So you're saying this isn't the Donk? Welp, this isn't awkward at all.

Edit: bah I'll send the invite anyway.

Hmmm... sorry to hear people are noticing more incidences of Dagger disconnects.  I'll keep an eye out as well for more Dagger disconnects but at this point, I think my interest in finding out the exact cause is somewhat proportional to Bioware's interest in fixing it at this stage.

It's not a ports fwd'ing issue and I just have the standard MP DLC bundle with updates from PSN. Offhand I'm leaning towards some sort of regional/geographic issue as well. My friend and I are both in western USA and have issues, my other friend who did not is based in Korea. Grunt, Loufi and Crimson are in Europe from what I can gather and also have no issues hosting. (shrug)

Hahaha… despite the warm fuzzy sentiment behind “Bah, I’ll send an invite anyway…grumble, grumble…” I understand this was a case of mistaken identity, so no need to send a FR.  But you are a wise and considerate young woman for offering to send one anyway, perhaps to spare any hurt feelings.  But I have no feelings to hurt anymore. My recent experiences with the Bioware RNG store and Wave10 devices with mudda-effin primes/phantoms have reduced my heart to nothing more than a charred blackened lump of coal.

See y'all out there in pugland.

Just for that post, I'm still gonna send it. And I'm pretty confident you haven't reported me here once so that's friendship material. Haven't logged back in since I last played yesterday afternoon but as soon as I do I'm sending. ;D

Cool. I might be online sometime this weekend but not sure.  And no, I wouldn't report something unless it was horribly offensive/bigoted... even then, I think I would tell the poster off first before reporting to a mod.  But I haven't seen anything offensive so far on BSN.

Also I logged in this morning mainly to catch up on food porn and hand out likes in the "What did you eat today" thread. But that was apparently banned/deleted?  Da hell?

Along with, I believe, three threads that ultimately popped up to ask why it was gone.

I think MaxCrushmore & Nycsamurai & Oni are central / west / east US and I've even played Dagger with them. So I am not so sure that it is region related. We could retest this tonight with them maybe...

So port forwarding & port translation is one thing but have u made sure those ports are open in the first place (specifically in both directions). It may sound a bit repetitive, but a a large number of problems are related to that. For PS3 mb just double check this writeup : http://forum.bioware...3#entry19951192

I believe it was called, "What did you eat today between Mass Effect games," and it was full of pictures of food.

In a strangely ironic twist, "food porn" is the only form of porn that is actually not porn, but rather just normal pictures of food. Unless you're into "food porn," then I guess it actually qualifies as porn (but I don't judge.)
