I was not ready for that episode of GoT
(also the King's Moot was horrifically underwhelming)

The Ironborn are horrifically underwhelming themselves, when you think about it. Cept for Yara (Asha), she's extremely cool and probably the only interesting thing about the Pyke scenes.

I actually never saw beyond the first season of Korra. Still haven't fully watched all of Avatar yet either.
All I can bring to the discussion is that Dante Basco is awesome and the film sucked. ![]()
Well all I have to say about this week's GoT is that I hope they do continue this trend of making Dany a villain.

Tell me about it, I'm really hoping that things will blow up in her face when she gets back to Meereen.
Pass the popcorn, this is gonna be good.
I would hope so, but I'm not sure the narrative won't just bend around her to make it all work out
Regarding the latest Game of Thrones;
My housemates decided to jump in on this Game of Thrones thing really late, so now I'm finally watching Season 1.
Stannis is the one true king, Danaerys, Aegon, Tommen, they are all liars and thieves!

Well, I hope that the books won't follow the road of the serie tv then.
( Tommen and Aegon can die as liars and thieves, I agree. )
To be honest, i'm hoping that season 6 won't look like anything GRR martin will do in his next book, except maybe for a very few things. But the arc or Danaerys is so bad that it makes me want to cry. It was the same with Stannis in season 5. They butchered his arc. ( the same with Dorn ) How things will realy happen in the north ? We'll see. The same for Theon and Asha, I absolutely hate their arc in the season 6.
I wonder how so different will be the path between the show and the book. Could they really end up with a different ruler ?

I always felt pretty bad for Tommen in the books. He's a sweet kid who shouldn't be king. I wanted him to give up the throne and go run a cat sanctuary somewhere.

GRR is feeding the showrunners spoilers from the upcoming book, so I doubt they will differ that much.
He's said that they know the ending but not much else, given how radically they've departed in area the books have already covered I wouldn't expect a ton of similaritiesGRR is feeding the showrunners spoilers from the upcoming book, so I doubt they will differ that much.
I'm into season three of A Song of Ice and Fire Game of Thrones.

Spoiler
You're at a good place to be, I felt the show has dipped in quality as they're running out of book material now, writers have made some ****** choices imo. Season 5 was terrible, this season is better, can't really remember season 4.
after the RW the writers got it into their heads that they don't need the source material as much anymore, and its been downhill from there. S6 at least isn't quite the train wreck that s5 was.
These would be the same showrunners who genuinely believed people would feel sympathy for two of the most hated characters during a certain event in S4... showing they don't necessarily understand the characters (or audience) as well as they should, despite having the source material in front of them.
If you're going to make changes from the book, understand the frickin' characters you're writing before you cause them to do something completely out-of-character or downright foolish... like Arya deciding to ignore mortal danger between episodes to go for a nice walk in S6.
Is anyone watching the OJ Simpson 30 for 30 ESPN documentary? I just finished watching part 2. The thing is ENTHRALLING, even for someone who watched the whole The People v. O. J. Simpson series, which is also excellent. I'm not even a sports fan. The sport I get most excited about is curling during the Winter Olympics.
The greater part of the first two parts focuses on OJ's initial rise as a football star, interlaced with the racial conflicts and tensions in the country and LA area at the time. The subtitle of the documentary is, "Made in America," and you can really see how all of this will serve as the background for the crime, and also the media and community (that is, the disparate response by both the black and white communities) reactions during it all. The second part also serves as the lead in to the Nicole/OJ relationship, with the third likely opening with the crime itself.

Curling is pretty great.
Curling is pretty great.
Curling is the most energetic example of sweeping, outside of rooftop musical numbers in Mary Poppins...
^ I watched that relatively recently and was surprised to recall just how much Dick Van ****** is actually in it; he is so damn awesome in the movie.

Omg his name is censored out. Uh, you all know who I mean.
