So we may get 90% of a game with a villain PC?

Not really, we were one of the leaders of the army but you can lead by fear or loyalty.

I have no idea what this is in reference to. I was making a joke about Obsidian never finishing their games before shipping them.
It took awhile, but Obsidian won me over with New Vegas. I really hated them back in the day. Now I look forward to their games more than Bioware.
This announcement doesn't say much though..

New Vegas was buggier than an ant hill at launch and it took them way too long to fix the worst problems. Hell, it's still buggy.

Maybe that's it. It took awhile for me to even play it. Not like Kotor 2 or NWN2, which I bought right away.
Either way, it's better than Fallout 3. Which is ****, as a game... not for any bugs.

Oh yeah, New Vegas is much better than Fallout 3(and 4). But it's still another example of Obsidian's lack of polish and consistency.

It was released half a year early.
Somehow Obsidian always has that excuse.

Yup.
It's like BioWare's engine problems.

It is not really "a villain PC" that is what I am referring to. It is more a "villain state".

New Vegas Anti-Crash is the greatest mod ever. Just felt like mentioning it.
Eh...
For the last decade or so?
Yeah, its mostly because of their publishers not wanting to extend deadlines or not wanting to wait.
Aren't Obsidian publishing through Paradox now? They seem to be one of the better publishers around for more niche games - Cities Skylines or Europa Universalis for instance... and, of course, Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity previously.

Yeah - but you are like Judge Dredd for that villain state.
Lol: "mile". How many light-miles are there actually to Andromeda?
Interesting concept, but I am afraid it's going to backfire because "evil" is again hard to pull off.
It might just turn into a situation like the game Overlord, where you are the bad guy but you in the end save everyone from other badguys.
That said I don't mind if BioWare do something like this.
I don't think we're necessarily evil when being part of a police state. Or rather, I think Obsidian will play a lot off the fear of reprisal from on high if you make the usual "good" choice.
Probably, but that in of itself is a cliche that we've seen before too. Papers Please comes to mind as an example.

Excuse me?
A cliché or cliche (/ˈkliːʃeɪ/ or /klɪˈʃeɪ/) is an expression, idea, or element of an artistic work which has become overused to the point of losing its original meaning or effect
Just think about it. we are an invading species that is not native to this part of the galaxy. We will need to take and colonize inhabitable planets that the species that are already living there will need/want. We are the parasite taking over that witch is not ours. It would just e great if the incorporate the other side of the story and make us look and feel like the jerks we are. In Andromeda we are the British/Spanish/French and the local aliens are the Native Americans. It would make for a fun and interesting story. Not just us being the great white hero that saves all mankind yet again.
Nah, it's not fun being the bad guy, white or black or purple. No thanks.
What takes real character, is being the good guy. We all have a dark side we have to resist. Somebody who can do that is worth emulating. Anybody can be bad. Nothing special about that.

That's real life. In video games we are always the good guy so being able to for once play a character who is not 'the perfect hero' would be something different and possibly interesting if done well.
Excuse me?
Oh, being a bad guy is overused in of itself, even in RPGs.
Any game with a moral choice system pretty much its expected, and there are games out there, both computer, japanese and so forth, that put you in the shoes of a "evil" character, albiet its uncommon compared to other scenarios.
Semantics of the word aside, the point is that's a story trope in the end that's been used before in gaming. Hopefully it is used well in Tyranny.

I feel so bad cause obsidian i'm like "yeah Obsidian game" and then I remember all the gamebreaking bugs I have had with them. One occurred right at the end of of the second last mission. Do these people test their code?
New Vegas is better than Fallout 3 in certain aspects. I still the overall world and atmosphere of Fallout 3 far superior to New Vegas. Actually, Fallout 3's atmosphere reminded me a lot of Fallout 1. The DLC for Fallout 3 was more enjoyable aswell. The Pitt and PL were amazing. It took awhile, but Obsidian won me over with New Vegas. I really hated them back in the day. Now I look forward to their games more than Bioware.

But you're not really a villain in those RPGs. You're just a psychotic thug most of the time. The only game where I would say you were a villain - albeit a totally irredeemable and awful, chaotic evil one - was MoTB.
