It seems recently that every Triple A title has a Season Pass of some sort. Now, obviously BioWare doesn't have a history of Season Passes, but do you think that would change? I wouldn't mind a Season Pass, it would just depend how they handle it. If they tell us up front, like I don't know X amount of expansions, and X amount out item drops, then at least I'll consider it.
Should Andromeda have a Season Pass?

No, but they will, and if they do you should get goodies with it.

Nope. Its one thing when a trusted dev like CDPR does it because I believe in them and their situation's unique. I felt that way about Bioware long ago, but these days? Nah. Would be just like 99% of other season passes. In other words, don't do it.

It is? Its exactly the same, maybe you will get more content, but it is still the same practice, a practice gamers should never encourage.

Meh, it's optional, people can buy it or don't. The price is mostly around an night out anyway. They should have it if it doesn't affect DLC pricing. I trust Bethesda and was impressed with Skyrim DLC, so I bought it right away for Fallout 4, I guess it just depends on consumer's trust people have toward a developer.

You know what this question reminds me of?
Back before Mass Effect 3 was released, I was on another discussion forum (I'm rebel like that) and I saw a thread titled: "Will Mass Effect 3 be exclusive to Origins?"
It was a fair question, because no one knew. After all, ME1 and ME2 were both available on Steam. And, in that thread, most of the replies went along the lines of: "Nah, that wouldn't be a good business decision, you have to release it on multiple platforms to make more money". I agreed with that idea and I thought to myself that it was in EA's best interest to make sure that the entire trilogy becomes available on Steam, but if they wanted to release it on Origins as well, then sure, why not? Give people choices, right? Then a horrible idea later came to mind: "What if EA uses ME3 as an Origins exclusive to better 'promote' / advertise / "sell" their own distribution platform?".
Welp, we know what happened next. It got Origins exclusive.
The Season Pass isn't a popular idea in our mind, but as unfortunate as it is, It. Works. Should we be surprised anymore? Gamers just Buy. That., period. They do! We know they do. Look at how much money they made with that "outrageously overpriced" Battlefront Season Pass (Ultimate version, or whatever name they gave it). The Season Pass for Fallout 4 must have worked well, and its price is even going to be increased. Mark my words, do. There WILL be a Season Pass for Andromeda. They might not name it as such, or they just will, who knows. Not necessarily because BioWare actually wants to see that happen (I'm sure that internally at BioWare some, if not most of them would just facepalm if they were 'ordered' to do it). More because EA wants to, and they are the ones having the last words. And we know EA, let's not pretend they'll make an exception for Andromeda, "just because it's Andromeda".

Why not? People are blaming Bioware for not offering 'upgrade from vanilla DAI to GOTY Edition'.

No. I would also like lore/story critical information to be in the main game and not $15 DLC. That is infuriating.

Especially when the $15 ending DLC is 75% backtracking, like Trespasser.

No. Even when it's done well, in theory it's a bad idea. It's gambling for the consumer. We need to get back to simple advertising what you'll actually get when you buy something.

BioWare isn't capable of putting out a game like TW3. They don't have the freedom that CDPR does, nor do they have an augmented source of income (see GOG).

Oh I know, the practice itself is sketchy as you're hoping you'll enjoy what comes next with no guarantees. No refunds if you didn't like the end product. Its just that in the right hands it can work like in CDPR's case. Though thats mostly because of their goals in game dev, their sources of income, and their Polish background all affecting how they create and give content to their consumers, building a trust others don't have.

So no, no season pass. I'll be getting the dlc regardless even though dlc should already be apart of the game.

Nope. Season Passes are asking consumers to pre-purchase content that hasn't been in development, for at least when pre-ordering a game it has been in development for awhile and there is some information out there.
During Inquisition's development this was said
Dragon Age: Inquisition will not have a season pass, or the concept or pre-purchasing DLC before it has ever been designed. This idea doesn't really work for us, as we prefer to be able to change our plans based on how DLC and story concepts are received by the players.
