I just realized that he has the Raider equipped in that video. But that just proves how awesome Vorcha are. They don't even need the stunner!

Vorcha come auto-equipped with, "GRRAAAGH!"
Biotic Explosions often do the trick, especially when they are 6x6 boosted +50% or +100%.
On Bronze, you can hit the force threshold to stagger a Banshee by hitting her square in the chest with a Disciple.

From experience, biotic explosions don't seem to reliably happen. I'm under the impression that if the banshee has the aura, she can't be combo'ed. I'm by no means any good at this game, but I rarely ever see biotic explosions on her... hmmm... or any tech combos for that matter.

I believe she can, by the same mechanic(s) that allow you to damage a bubbled Phantom with a BE. In both cases, I believe there are two ways it can be done:
1 - Prime the Banshee/Phantom. If she then bubbles, you can still detonate it using an AoE detonator, as long as your target is close enough to the Phantom for her to be in the AoE.
2 - Prime an enemy near the Phantom and then detonate it. The BE damage will still get through the Banshee/Phantom's bubble (it only prevents powers, I believe, and combinations are considered a separate damage type that scales with difficulty.)
At a late manifest stage, though, most people probably find it easier to just use their guns until her aura goes away.
In my experience OP, it is a high damage attack or attack with a good level of force, or a combo of those 2 factors which will prevent a Banshee synch.
Either really high damage weapon or a biotic explosion is a pretty reliable way to interrupt that animation.
Edit - just saw your post re BE's, they will reliably work as long as the Banshee isn't in her denial mode

I been smackin' Banshees a long time, and I'm not stopping now.
Huh...

sounds kinky, eh.
