I am just starting out....what is the recommended difficulty for an experienced gamer? Also, can you change the difficulty mid game? thanks everyone!!!

Sure, you can change anytime.
I'd start with Hardcore. It isn't even hard, but the boss battles will take a bit longer and they'll use more tactics. Regular enemies still drop pretty quickly.

Ha I started with Casual but if you're only playing once I guess Hard would be more challenging. There's only a couple of spots that are interesting on Casual otherwise you're just simulating the game. I don't remember how normal is.

Almost the same. I guess if you're just in to run your way through, Casual serves the purpose better.
