Is it possible to spare Loghain and have him become a Warden, have Alistair and Anora rule jointly and take down the Archdemon yourself after completing the DR with Morrigan? Or does sparing Loghain mean you have to let him make the Ultimate Sacrifice? My ideal playthrough would end the way I mentioned above, as I really want Loghain to be present in my DAI playthrough as the person I throw at the Nightmare instead of Hawke, and I REALLY don't want to have to kill him or Alistair, or choose between them in any way.
SPOILER ALERT: About the fate of Loghain, Alistair and Anora, and the Warden

I just took a look at the Keep to see if your world state is possible
and I'd like to say, that yes...it's possible
All you have to do is let yourself (or Loghain) perform the Dark Ritual
as well as Harden Alistair to make him able to marry with Anora
Then during the end battle you have to pick that you yourself will kill the Archdemon
That way you can ensure everyone lives
and be able to have Loghain be present during DAI
Hope this helped

Yes it's possible. That's what I do in most of my world states.
To do it, you need to harden Alistair and convince Alistair and Anora to marry prior to the Landsmeet

Yes it's possible. You have to harden Alistair by telling him during his personal quest that everyone's out for themselves, then talk to him in camp some time afterwards about it (idk if the second part is *required* but better safe then sorry). Then you have to suggest Anora marry him, to which she'll tell you that if he consents to her terms she'll do it, and then run and convince Alistair to marry Anora. When he says he'll do it, sparing Loghain will allow you to still have them marry. He'll say he'll leave the Wardens to marry her.
Loghain will be in your party and all you have to do then is do the DR with Morrigan when she brings it up. Doing the DR ensures that you strike the killing blow in the cutscene.

yes, the second part (confirmation) is required in camp after seeing Goldanna. It locks him in as 'hardened'.

Just remember, you need high approval for Alistair to even have the later dialogue with you that hardens him. So if you're not friends, he never takes the advice.

Thanks for all your advice guys, and in some cases, again.
I recognise some of you from my other topic. I really appreciate the help. I've been playing Dragon Age for a long time so I'm not exactly a novice but in this case I definitely was confused. ![]()
