Just i like Solas? :(  (And Cole...)  Okay, the world's destruction is not a good point ... but apart from that ... Hmmm, maybe this sounds not too good :)

There are a lot of people who like Solas. I don't, I think he is a jackass and has no redeemable qualities outside of telling it like it is about Qun to Iron Bull.

Otherwise, he is a dull sack of condescending elf garbage.

People probably hate Sera more, to be fair.

But personally, she represents a lot of things that I like in the series.

Anders, Vivienne and Sera get much more hate than Solas, from what I've seen.

Jethann is the only man of substance in this world.

He and the male elf companion at The Pearl.

He tried to stop the Evanuirs and his solution brought doom on those who he tried to help.
He tried to fool Corypheus to unlock his orb, Corypheus earned a damn good weapon for free.

There are several users in this forum who continue to use always the same arguments against Solas in order to discredit the character yet they forget that he managed to gain all the eluvians in the world,he tricked the elven gods and yes he knew the cost and the price to pay but he said that every other alternative was worse.
He saved the Inquisitor,he managed to infiltrate spies in the Inquisition ecc..
Uh?
Why all those things are avoided from equation?

Still doesn't change the fact that he's just an eggead who doesn't like the world. And sleeps too much.

I already simpathized with Dread Wolf, when Merrill talked about him with Hawke (in the dalish ring scene DA2) That was a lovely story...

People are more than free to dislike him but this dosen't mean that he his a loser.
The others males on the other hand are losers because without the PC they are nothing more than losers.

I can sympathize with him, as far as originally freeing the elves (apparently).

But he seems to have gone emo over the results. He doesn't really like this world. And he's still very focused on how elves should be. He never truly wanted to free them. He still wants them to be the way he sees them.

He and the male elf companion at The Pearl.

And Denier the dwarf at the Blooming Rose.

Human: Templars for you all day, is it?
Denier: They love dwarves. I don't ask why. Probably don't want to know. At least they tip well.

I think your issue is that you think any of the above has ANYTHING to do with being badass. Subjective opinion, and all that.

What do you need to get badass cred? Do Cullen and Solas even have anything in common, besides a mutual lust for elven ladies..?

The dude couldn't recover them alone, he got help, the lazy bald man let me to fight Saarath while he was having fun with the regular cow-men.

His plan is open the Veil again, thus letting the Evanuirs free, if he couldn't just kill them by then of course he won't be able to do it now.

Infiltrating the Inquisition is not really an achievement, half of the world did it before him.

I had no choice on the Inquisition. Like I said, I didn't like him right away. I would have ditched him if I could.

But this game wasn't about an Inquisition in the first place really. It's a farce from the start. It's just a stupid story about Corypheus, so it has to go a certain way.

You have a point, yes, and Sera said good, Solas are stuck in the old times.

I'm not sure what you mean? You mean they don't go against the PC enough or have their own opinions enough? Or there aren't enough strong male warrior types?

I think it's just.... companions can't out badass the PC, because people don't really like it when characters upstage the PC too much.... plus characters that are given a big plot important role are usually pretty polarizing....Morrigan, Anders, Solas. Or they aren't companions- Duncan.

I like the push/pull of strong characters. I don't care if they're male or female. Jack and Miranda were like this.

I wish Cass had been more closeminded too.. She defers too much. But I still like her.

Well, they can't be mages. If that's one of the reasons, I'd say its just another indication of how mentally f'd up the templars are due to their training.

There also might be a joke in there about dwarven resistance to lyrium, or perhaps that's just my gutter mind.

Oh, you don't have to, err, take advantage of the services. I was there to question Jethann about the disappearing women. I just overheard that conversation and lol'd.
