And here I thought the OP was against so called 'insane troll logic'.

Honestly, I can see no difference in what he declares of others using 'insane troll logic' and the so called 'arguments' he uses.

Let's cut this short. The OP declares something is valid in his point of view, dismisses the arguments of others one way or another and starts whining because so few share his point of view ... srsly ...

I really can't take people seriously when they say that the male characters of DA are "whiny". Just because they're fleshed out and have problems doesn't qualify them as "whiny".

Aren't they whiny and childish for the most part?
Anders literally whine for almost all DA2 about his own issues, let's not even speak about Alistair or others of his family like Cailan.
Then there is Oghren he is the character with the most childish behaviour among all the DA characters.
The others that remain aren't all that better really,Cullen was a spineless whiny in DAO this can be grasped from the mage origin he did improved slowly thankfully.
Of what other male pc you want to talk about,Varric who is licking Bianca feets in DAI,what a dissapointment he was in DAI.

I don't know what you mean about Cullen in DAO. He was caged and tortured and fended off mind control for days or weeks... something only Irving and a few mages accomplished. He's just pissed off about it.

What's childish are the following:

- Your atrocious spelling mistakes

- Your juvenile sentence constructions

- Your overall poor grammar

Oh, yes, Nathaniel Howe :) I like him too.

I liked almost all, of them have not found a bad (written) character. Some are weird, some annoying, but basically liked. (And I recruited always all, as in Inquisition.)

Honestly, OP? I think you're one of the few people that have a problem with EVERYTHING.

For the sake of HAVING A PROBLEM.

Oh, well. At least you're enjoying yourself.

I haven't read the entire thread cause.. well... it's long lol but I really liked Cullen, wished they'd used his DA2 version instead cause he was much more manly there and otherwise I think Blackwall was pretty manly. Besides that yeah.. the rest they were simply "okay". Bull was manly and tough but a joke character in my eyes and Solas annoyed the hell out of me until I romanced him in one playthrough but there wasn't enough content in his romance. Cullen was the best out of them all I think.

Hopefully they'll do better in DA4 xD

I can't help but laugh at this perceived definition of what makes a man "manly". Did you know that there are many types of men in the world? And that they--we--don't all fit the same description of "manliness"? The very notion of defining what makes a man "manly" is pretty ridiculous to me as it will always be a matter of personal opinion.

If they are Solas of course.
Why can't people simply understand that he is" the ultimate man" (well elf)
If only the others dudes could be a least 1% manly as Solas is,instead many of them  use the  PC  to cry about their own issues.
well ok i may save  CUllen at least he share a common passion with Solas

You can't honestly think so poorly of me, right?

Even if that's the case because clearly it is since i'm not saying that manly means being a barbarian who rotate his axe upon his head while screaming shalalalala!  Lol that's stupid  not manly.
Why i should see repetitive whining as manly?

edit
Look at Leliana and Morrigan they are two different females with different tastes yet they don't like Oghren and  Alistair they don't think they are manly so clearly they agree with me.
Or Shale she well it, doesn't respect ALsitair to begin with or consider him a strong male character.

Something I've noticed after nearly seven years on the franchise forums: male characters are criticized for showing emotions and acting on them, female characters are criticized for having independent opinions and/or independent sexual behaviour. So Alistair and Sebastian are accused of being 'whiny' because they react poorly to people killing their parental figures, while Morrigan gets called a b***** and Isabela a s***. We get far fewer people complaining that Merrill breaks down sobbing over Marethari or that Sten can't be converted to Andrastianism.  (Not that they don't get criticized for other things, but there are lots of complaints that seem specifically gendered.)

"Repetitive whining" is more than a strecth, to say the least. Sure, Anders spends a good majority of DA2 talking about his own issues. but why? Because it is something that is very important to him and, because of the presence of justice, it has become so much more than that. As for Oghren, yeah, his behavior is juvenile, but did you ever think about why he acts the way he does? To me, Oghren was obviously depressed after his wife left him, leaving him utterly broken. And if you think that couldn't happen to even the most "manly" of them, then you'd be wrong.
