It would be a complete waste of resources. They're not going to redesign the game to work for two totally separate characters. Bioware has discussed multiple protagonists for a game - and a playable segment like Ciri in TW3 is not an unreasonable ask for DA4 for the Inquisitor. But there's no way they do this without totally eviscerating the whole point of bringing back the Inquisitor.

I hope this happens. I haven't played TW3 yet (because I just keep replaying Inquisition at the moment) but dual protagonists sounds like a good idea, if done well.

Keep in mind, it's not "dual" in TW3. Not in the sense of equal screentime. Ciri is more the hero of the story than the, protagonist, Geralt, but you play as Geralt for essentially the whole game.

They have done it before with Awakening. We could import our Warden or make a new one, although that was on a smaller scale.
It also wasn't done very well.

All four Inquisitor voices, plus at least two for the new protagonist. Ouch.

Can you imagine the voice acting budget, though?

Didn't you get the memo? All that stuff is free, if it's something that people with Ican'tletgoitis must have. Price is no object, until they're expected to pay 200 dollars for a base game to cover the expenses of all the VAs they wanted to have.

I'd be happy if Quizzy disappeared.. or just hired the new protag. I kinda see them as a scholar anyways (Bro Genetivi on stereoids). They could just go back to exploring or writing and be fine.
If they were gonna go the extra mile with voices, they would have done it with a Warden cameo already.

I think the scene after the end of Trespasser hints at that second one.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for the Inquisitor to return in some capacity, but I would be shocked if they had him (or anyone else really) as a second option for a protagonist. It would essentially require them to create two games at once if it were going to be done right.
At best, I see the Inquisitor coming back in a role sort of akin to one of the companions from this game (but largely reduced), or as a Duncan that doesn't end up dying an hour after you meet him.

You can hope, but it's really going to be one or the other. And the Inquisitor is the least likely option, sadly

Someone dangerously incompetent and personally responsible for all of the death and disaster of the main plot? The Inquisitor helped Solas by accident, sure, but I don't think it's fair to really compare them to one of the least capable characters in DA.

Dual protagonists would only arise further problems, also what kind of formula they can possibly use like Divinity original sin?

While they're almost certainly not going to do this, and I'm not even sure they can do it well enough that it wouldn't make me regret saying anything, I wouldn't mind dual or triple protagonists under the Grand Theft Auto V model.

Hexsagone's idea as originally posted. I don't play grand theft auto so am not familiar with what you are suggesting. Sorry I wasn't clear >.<

Nah, I meant someone who we interact with towards the beginning and who brings us into the game's central conflict. Hopefully he would not die immediately afterwards and he could continue to reappear occasionally throughout the later portions of the game.
And I like Duncan. ![]()

It's not a problem.
Anyway, I could tell you what I meant, but that would give you one less reason to go out and get GTA V. So go out and get GTA V.
And I like Duncan.
So do I, but come on. The newest Wardens don't know how to kill the Archdemon, when that was vital information they could well have wound up needing. Cailan apparently didn't know it and Loghain certainly didn't, when they were leading a battle and a war in which that information was vital. To say nothing of the fact that he had way fewer Wardens than he should have. If there's few enough that they all fit on the front lines, that's a bit of a problem.

If B-W thought the idea was solid and the game will sell they would do it.. After all its all about money that's how they stay in business..
Writers, actors programmers among others still get paid regardless.
I like the idea of importing my warden from DA:O to DA:A. The word change was simple.."You're the hero of Ferelden from your the new warden commander..Very costly indeed.
It could be done..
