I'm a loyal follower of Me-isim. (The worship of me) So children would take away from that.
No kids unless they make this into ME barbie adventure IMO. Rubbish idea does not fit in with the concept of MEA.
Come on Bruno!! Don't you want to see your offsprings offspring growing up and developing into a beautiful strong karateeeeee fighter who's also part Krogan part Asari part Hanar and finally part Salarian??!!
I have off spring in the real world, plus over a hundred nieces and nephews. I do not want pixelated kids in a game that does not suit the idea. It was bad enough in fable.
The only child I'll accept is the star child...but only strung up with a plethora of blunt objects in the vicinity.

Do not want.
Let there be some "seed bank" etc. aboard the Ark, owing to one of its core mission imperatives. But a specific gameplay feature for us as protagonist parents? Nope. Pass.
I have a hard time imagining any sort of nuclear family structure persisting given what the Ark is meant for. I can be onboard with other methods in which the juvenile units' education and upbringing are shared among many adults to where the concept of ownership based on genes or siring and gestating all go out the picture. As long as there's nothing that resembles domesticity.
I do hope the Ark portrays a majority of same-sex relationships or at least a 50% representation. Should help with population control in a long-term mostly closed environment. That and because it's worth showing in a major action-oriented IP.
If kids by some rare rare chance become a thing they should take a page out of Harvest Moon's book and let you use the child for labor. "Oops go clean out the vents. Why? Because Mistake is too big for it and they're waxing the ship for mommy. Now go, get on it and I may remember your birthday this year."
*switches lurker mode back on*
Maybe our Pathfinder could rescue a child from slavers or something and then we would get the option to adopt them. And if the parent/child relationship was handled as well as the Lee/Clementine relationship was from Tell Tales The Walking Dead than I'm with it.
I'm all for the protagonist having a family, if it ends up like this...
Unless they're written into the story to serve as revenge fuel for the protagonist...no thanks! Given Bioware's recent track record I don't think they're capable of writing some family drama into the story without it turning into cloying fanservice for shippers.
I've said this before and I will say it again: Why don't all of you just play the sims? It literally gives you all of the exact crap you want.

I always knew you were cold, dark, evil, and dead inside! Now the proof is right here.
That is probably you in your avatar mowing down a litter of kittens.
What if I told you I am a cat?

Looks more like mewbecca the wookiecat!
My god is this an awful idea! Has everyone who played the 3 Fable Games forgotten already what absolutely ruined each one? It was having those meaningless kids that did nothing but subtract and distract from the stories. Just a dreadful mistake that is so loathesome, I wouldn't touch a Mass Effect game that forced that needless obligation upon me. Unless there was very real & purposeful story driven implications in doing it.
While I am not against my character having kids, I have to be somewhat logical in this matter, well logical to me anyway. We are no doubt going to be in constant danger. Having a kid or being pregnant gives the the enemy something very precious to target, besides your chosen LI of course. Also being shot at all the time and getting attacked in other ways puts the unborn child in danger (also is there such thing as maternity armor O.o) or if you have the kid he or she would be kidnapped to make you do something or killed cuz..plot idk. Anyway the point I am trying to make is while it would be nice, it wouldn't be the smartest decision to make due to the dangerous circumstance we will no doubt be in. ...maybe in the ending credits if anything, can mention us having kids.

No one survives.

Childs are marvellous in real life, but I don't want to see such things in my games. It's more than enough, if there are romances.
TK, in that pic the small one needs have to some doll in the one hand and a piece of half eaten calamari in the other. That would be a finishing touch, for Vorcha royalty. Pity pat grew bored with his lineage...Be careful what you wish for..

Huh, he really does look like how Santa Clause is commonly depicted in my country. S'odd to see but hilarious nonetheless.
