I can't believe this is 11 pages.
No offense. It's just surprising.

No.
Personally I'm not willing to bet on another person's life that it'll be different.until you have your own.
Only if we can throw them onto a meat grinder.
Yeah, when you say things like that, I'm reminded of this...
No backsies!
It be waste of resources to be honest its nothing but fluff.
No, I'd rather put my character through the autodoc scene from Prometheus.
"Congratulations Ryder it's a... squid."
....I find adults far more annoying and loud than children. Far more dangerous, too.
That said, no thank you, OP. ...you cheeky little spawn. ![]()

But children are actually more intelligent, if this forum is any indication.
I think children are just more in touch with the obvious ![]()
Adults fortify themselves with a mountain of bullshit. Perhaps against their will.
But I digress.

I have this theory that people don't actually "grow up". I mean look at the people on this forum.. Nerds with supposedly high intellect and yet they squabble like children over the most ridiculous things.
And then there are those who take to Tumblr to complain about something they saw in a game and it "triggers" them.
Adults don't grow up, it's just that they are usually too busy with their various responsibilities to goof around much. And perhaps if life kicks your ass often enough, you might learn to avoid certain things, which some people could mistake for wisdom. ![]()
This is why the super rich seem to be so childish sometimes: They can ignore their responsibilities more often than us mortal wage slaves, because if they screw up, then their money will fix it.
The internet allows us to act the way we feel without consequences (not really though) because we're anonymous (not even remotely) so many people let out their inner jerk and are amazingly self-centered... just like children who don't know any better yet. It's this illusion that makes the keyboard mashers so brave... if only they knew how transparent they really are, they'd be much better behaved.

Maybe so. I think arguing is OK.. I just don't have the energy to argue longer than 3 or 4 exchanges. I can understand wanting to get a point across, but it gets old.
I'm guessing you're still in your mid-teens as to why you would want kids, but I'll play. Sure, if that means I get to toss them out of an airlock, I'll take it.

Did you make your name just for this thread? Or is that a long running thing for you? ![]()

Long running definitely. I'm just disappointed it took me nearly a month to realize this thread exists. I would of had a great first comment.
How bout kids at the end of the series. Be like your LI is pregnant. Wait a second.... That means they'd have to have SEXY TIME!!!! Screw the haters!!!! LOL
Heck one of Bioware's first games with romances had this (Aerie is pregnant by the end of ToB, and Viconia's epilogue says she has a son with the Bhaalspawn)
I'm guessing you're still in your mid-teens
Because it needs to be repeated:
Can you tell me 1 reason why you wouldn't want to raise a baby Krogan? Or even a spawn of your own that ends up being the main character in a future game?
Because being the protagonist hero means I don't have the time for it. I could be the greatest parent ever (I'm not) but if I only get to see my kid for a few hours before I take off on the next high risk mission, than that kid isn't getting enough of my time.
Wanting a kid because it would be cool or fun is a really bad reason for having one.
We're not in the position to properly raise a kid and I think you're all forgetting the disgusting, gross, frustrating and otherwise negative sides of rearing a child.
If done right, then our protagonist would die in combat because they were too tired and reacted too slowly... because their kid kept them up all night, vomitted out their breakfast and then we had to mop the floor instead of checking our gear before the mission.
Oh, and the part about actually having your own kid? How do you think this would play out? Female protagonists take a break from the story for a year because of the pregnancy and what follows? How about the male takes a year off after the child is born. I'm sure the mission to assure our survival can wait until we're back on the job.
Seriously, I shouldn't even have to spell it out like this. It's obvious that this is a catastrophically bad idea.
Still true.
What if the aliens think kids would be good food? Would we put their offspring on the retaliatory platter?
I mean that's what you do when you see something new, right? You check if it's edible.
Oh jesus, please no. I had a hard enough time stomaching all the kid scenes in ME3 alone. I don't like children, I have no patience for them and that includes in games.
You want to raise kids? Go play sims.
Funny thing is, replace "Children" in this statement with "gay romance", and I'm pretty certain Luminous would have been mobbed and butchered by a lot of angry people here. If we can have gay romance, what's so outrageous about having families? And I don't even mean Luminous personally, but the general responses I'm seeing here.
I'm fine with it, personally. My warden is a father in Dragon age and the world didn't shatter apart because of it.
For the love of Liara, this isn't Sims smh.
