That was pretty much what I expected.

As I lack impartiality, I'll have to wait for B00g13's judgement as to whether or not to put a tick in the signature. Except he's smart crazy something enough to avoid this place.
I think it's sad that Arishok's beautiful thread gets ruined like this! Say... why don't we bury the hatched and shake hands and all be pals eh?
Come on, who's the biggest man? Who's gonna start by saying OK?
I'm the biggest man. He knows better than to even address me. Everyone can see that. Also, Elcor has him handled quite nicely. He has made quite the spectacle of what the people who do not support this epic idea are like. Elcor does great work and now everyone can see this.
Good work Elcor.

I didn't really have any doubts about this xD

I suppose I do, indeed, owe you an apology. If my scintillating moronism hadn't proved to be such a distracting, shiny thing, you would have been able to experience a conversation borne of love.

I don't know if you caught the thread, but I am starting to get the feeling I could be the first BSN member to achieve the Special Marksmad Edition Rhodium Plated name here on the site. This would be one to check off of the bucket list for sure and you would be in part responsible for it. Apology accepted!

Sorry but a stupid idea like kids, is always a stupid idea. Getting all flowery will not polish a turd. What next arishok lets have ponies and a petting zoo, so we can really enjoy MEA.
I think it could fit, but in an ending.
Say you beat the game as a Paragon, your L.I. survives, and you managed to keep a story-centric planet from being too heavily damaged...
Ryder had been through a lot while traversing the Helius Cluster. Khet raids, Remnant discoveries, and keeping the colonies running took their toll on the Pathfinder, but through it all, he had managed to find love.
Since Artemis II had survived the ordeal relatively unscathed, it was the perfect place to settle down.
They had two children, a boy and a girl. Both of them took after their parents in different ways, one, but both would grow to become famous pilots in their own right, just like their father.
And while there would no doubt be more adventures to come, there was one thing Ryder could be certain of:
"I'm finally home."
Say you beat the game as a Renegade, your L.I. survives but leaves because you're a jerk, and the story-centric planet gets heavily damaged...
Ryder had been through a lot while traversing the Helius Cluster. Between the Khet attacks, Remnant discoveries, and keeping the colonies safe, Ryder's increasingly heavy hand through the ordeal left his crew uneasy in the end, to the point where even the future mother of his children couldn't remain.
Broken-hearted, the Pathfinder left for Artemis II, a planet that had seen better days, to aid in the restoration effort.
One day, while in some ruins, the Pathfinder was ambushed by some Khet who had remained underground during the conflict.
Before the Pathfinder could react, shots rang out, and the Khet fell where they stood.
As they gasped their last breath, a figure walked through the smoke, a figure that looked familiar...
And then they spoke:
"Ryder, it's time to come home."
Just a thought off the top of my head.
Trying to integrate such a "SIMS"-style feature in-game would not work, but I feel it would make an excellent addition to any epilogue.

Sooner they spent the reources on another planet as would most ME players.
I actually have one very simple reason why I am opposed to being able to have children in ME:A. I'm not interested in ever seeing the BioWare infographic that shows what percentage of Mass Effect players had a frustrating mission, returned to their base, got drunk, and beat their children.

I'm guessing that I probably didn't. I have it on good authority that I don't reed gud.
Well, ...Arishok
When you said you'll proof in an experiment that some personalities, here, are not as open-minded as they pretend, I didn't expect more than 50%.
So many rabbits under one hat - it's probably the de facto lookup catch list of the Me:a forum for the next 2 years. And also some of the long established names - two even from our mp forum + one BSN employee : I never would've guessed.
If you agree that we still have to exclude the youngsters (12-15 yo's) opinions, from this list ( since their personalities still have to develop), that figure will not be as dismally high ( but will still probably win the bet....)
Why, this is a Kindergarten already. Now who wants ice-cream?
My favorite is "This game has that so ME can't"
COD has guns to ME can't. Oblivion has fast travel so ME can't. Final Fantasy X has characters that talk so ME can't. Ok ![]()
No thank you, I already own Fallout 4.

Depends. If MEA planets are as lifeless and as barren as DAI areas, no thanks. Kid or not kid, those areas need to be fully fleshed out and in sync with the overall story.
I'm all about love, marriage and children in real life and feel the same way about video game romances. So yes, i'd actually like it if having children were a possibility. Most don't seem to share my opinion though. I'm starting to think that i was born into the wrong era with as old fashioned as i like things.

I'm not sure that's really true. I feel the same...and I'm sure many others do as well. I think the more moderate types in the BSN community tend to stay silent and/or there aren't that many actively posting given the overall lack of information at the moment. To me it's a far less strange request than someone wanting to have sex with something akin to a lizard, squid, or frog.
Some of us have sense enough to realize, our own niche ideas are not going to happen.
I for one would like no main hero and would love to customize from a full team from the available characters. Ie garus squad leader with grunt and Ashley as support team. Will they do that No. its just my personal dream and not going to happen.
Will I rant on the forum and demand I have the right answer to MEA...........NO I am not so arrogant as to assume what I think is better than what Bioware will do. (Heck they make make junk, but they are the developers, and my idea means jack) Assuming that most ME fans want kids is daft, unless its a majority, which it aint, it is nothing worth including.

I would consider myself "old fashioned" in this regard as well. However, I'd still wish for those things to be optional, which begs the question -how many resources do they allocate for optional content? An optional wedding seems doable, but I assume children would be a bit more involved (perhaps including these things in a dlc would be more reasonable). And even though I can enjoy the concept of family in video games, I don't enjoy it when the connection is forced (looking at you, Fallout4).

This is a curious assessment of developer forum communication.

It seems a bit extreme to suggest that no one should make any posts about what they'd like in the game unless they have established that a majority of ME fans want it as well. I'm not sure how one would survey those fans without first at least posting about the suggestion, and I'm even less sure that any game would ultimately benefit from a design philosophy that only considers features worth including that have been approved by a majority of fans.
I think a lot of people don't understand that this is a troll thread.... because we need the fun in between all the seriousness while we wait for news on Andromeda xD
Fact is this is obviously not what the majority want in an action game. You do not need a poll to gather that fact.

It's like that? Do you know how rare it is that I open up and share my heart? And only for it to be called trolling? Brutal. Things were looking up and Elcor had my back....and now this........ ![]()
