Don't worry, with Andromeda coming out soon, we're bound to get even more fun threads like that as soon as someone spots the fist black or hispanic person in a future trailer. Bonus points if said character happens to be gay or bi. I don't think I will keep my sanity through another Steve situation...

Too many people are here! Luckily I've made myself ill on pork and coffee and woke up looking extra pale, it should buy me some time anyway. Oh and I did realized I had my computer on with some very 'questionable' tabs when my cousin's girlfriend came in to put her purse away. Thankfully nothing has been said I'm hoping she just didn't noticed ![]()

I'm in a similar boat, Huldra. I'd usually be at work on Sundays, so it's nice to have a paid day off for Easter, but the rest is a bit of a chore. My family can be frustrating.

That's when you take the Mako 2.0 out for a spin and run over some new alien lifeform and destroy any potential alliances you might have had on that planet, and ...uhh, you know, maybe that's not such a good idea.Don't worry, with Andromeda coming out soon, we're bound to get even more fun threads like that as soon as someone spots the fist black or hispanic person in a future trailer. Oh Mako, you never change. Poor Pyjaks. ![]()
On a related note, I'm happy they'll have a real driving mechanic this time. I haven't played the Frostbite Need for Speed games, but if it's anything like the previous ones this time it'll finally feel like a real vehicle, instead of a cup of jello balanced on 6 marshmallows.

I know right! I think its more about Nolan's movies then Bale to be honest. Not a huge Nolan fan. I am so going to get alot of flak for this. Always liked the villains in those movies, i never connected with anything else.
Well atleast you got to see Zootopia, which is a great movie. Did you like it?
I really loved Zootopia. I was surprised, because the commercials didn't impress me, but I fell a little in love with the characters and the central friendship story.
I don't know if I could pinpoint any one favorite thing about it, but I think it might be the theme. It's about prejudice, but it's not a one dimensional portrayal. There's lots of ways to encounter prejudice in the world they built, and lots of different kinds of characters who struggle with it.

I like to headcanon that the Mako was based on the Krogan Tomkah, hence the reason it's designed like a brick, has a huge cannon and can roll down a mountain without a scratch. Plus why in human hands, it handles like a totally drunk rhino, it's because our bodies just aren't built to drive the thing.

I love the way Pixar does friendships so much.
Isn't it Disney movie though?

Yes, Zootopia was done by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Specifically it is the same group that created Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6.

Here is an amusing thing... The UK is building a new polar research vessel and has turned to the internet for suggestions on the name of said vessel. Anyone in the world can vote (I did). The amusing thing is that you can see all of the suggestions and see them in order of popularity. There are some serious names and many non-serious ones. The #1 choice, with 10x more votes than the #2 spot, is RRS Boaty McBoatface. Lol...
I voted for RRS David Attenborough, which would be particularly great since he's still alive to feel the honor of such a naming.
You can see all of the names, and vote, over on their website.
Do keep in mind that these are suggestions only, and the agency is not beholden to these results. Probably a good thing, because internet.
Is it too late to suggest RRS Brass Monkey... I mean, it is supposed to go to the poles? ![]()
(But David Attenborough would be more appropriate, the guy definitely deserves the honour)

Well, that shows me not to just take other people's word. I thought it was Disney, but the person I went to see it with said it was Pixar. Now I know.

To be fair, I believe one of the people who runs that group is also one of the people who runs Pixar.

I voted for RRS Boatimus Prime. Hopefully you didn't expect us to vote serious names ![]()

my take home test in Old English is driving me up the wall. Bede's account of the conversion of King Edwin doesn't parce well into modern English.

Yeah, Old English is in many ways closer to German when it comes to words and sentence structure, since it lacks a lot of the french and latin elements in the lingo that were introduced post-Norman conquest. Hope you've managed to slog through it all right.
