My computer is still not back from repairs. It's been almost a month.

moth_zps5niveplk.gif

However, I had some really embarrassing crap on that computer over the years, just thinking about it now makes me want to die a little.

I should have just bought a new one in hindsight. Kinda dreading picking it back up now.

Nah, ex-girlfriend stuff. You think you can scrub that stuff clean but it's never truly gone. Not looking forward to that bill either.

Sigh... I'm pretty sure I took some troll bait when I wrote a lengthy response to a post in this thread. It's so hard to tell sometimes, because some new players really are ignorant about these aspects of the games. But the person's response really makes me think it was troll. Either that or they're just an idiot.

What did I just read?

McGregor vs Diaz 2 was confirmed yesterday.
Seriously that **** wasn't even close the first time when Nate Diaz was coming in on 11 days notice what makes anyone think it'll go different when he has a full camp?

Still, there's a bright side at least: there's a killing to be made with Irish bookies.

Just found out my father is coming over and staying for who knows how long. I'm not looking forward to it, we have a strained relationship at best which is mainly one sided. Not even sure why he's coming over probably drama with his ex wife again, they keep breaking up and getting back together like an annoying highschool couple. I'm not sure if smiling and nodding is going to help much, maybe I'll fake illness after I hide all the alcohol from him.

 ...while I don't disagree with what you're saying, I implore you to watch Knights of Badassdom before you conclude that Dinklage in a Live-action Dragon Age couldn't be done ;)

Just remember, there is always the rope-from-bedsheets-and-out-the-window idea to fall back on ...although "fall back on" might be a bad choice of words.

Considering most of my windows are over concrete yes probably a poor choice of words  I'm just hoping he won't stay long, I'm not sure I can take another one of his rants on how 'he's trying dammit and he loves her but just can't do this and etc etc etc.' But perhaps I'm just an overly jaded person.

It's easy to feel jaded when patterns repeat like that, I guess. Well, if going out the window is out of the question, you can escape here and vent about it all, at least.

I love Solas threads almost as much as I love mage versus templar threads. Or elves versus humans!

So this came out today. I'd like to think one of my comments in the Schlerf thread was the inspiration for it   :P

Of course leave it to BSN to suck the joy out of everything.

It might be my least favorite holiday idea ever. I only really like practical jokes when they're at the expense of Dwight Shrute.

On the other hand, I guess I've seen a few other things I liked. There used to be a show called The Morning After on Hulu, where they reviewed the previous day in television. They did an April Fools episode where they acted like they were in the 90s, but that wasn't really trying to trick anyone, so I don't know how much it counts.

One more rant for the evening, and it's something that FFX vets would understand.

Screw Blitzball. Wakka ain't getting his ultimate weapon.
Screw Chocobo racing. Tidus ain't getting his weapon.
Screw butterfly catching. Kimhari isn't getting his weapon.
Screw dodging 200 lightning bolts. Lulu isn't getting hers and that miniquest is sadistic.

I love the game, but most of those sidequests suck. The Monster Arena is pretty fun, and I've got the ultimate weapons for Yuna, Aurora and Rikku. That's all I want to do, other than grind materials for Ribbons for the Dark Aeons.

Ugh. Give me Sphere Break and the Chocobo Dungeon any day (X-2.) Or Chocobo digging like in FFIX.

Blitzball isn't too bad. At least there's a system in place that could allow it to be called a game. The problem is just the sheer number of games you have to play due to the random prize distribution.

But yeah, butterfly catching is just raw memorization (or looking at a map), lightning dodging is literally just testing your reflexes for an hour straight, and chocobo racing is...well it's just bullshit.

I've completed precisely ONE FFX game in which i got everyone's Celestial Weapons and I will never in my life do it again.

Game shark is a damn blessing for that. Having to play Blitz ball once was enough for me. Oddly had no to little problem with the lighting dodging, probably would now though. Can't recall much on the other two to be perfectly honest.

@Dome True enough. The only reason why I haven't tried it is do to being a little lazy. I might pull up a walkthrough that I have bookmarked for later. I don't think it helps that the first time the player tries Blitz it's against a very good team to start. I should at least give it a shot.

I've made an honest effort with chocobo racing, the butterflies and even the stupid lightning dodge. I made it to 20, thanks to the area where the lightning strikes regularly. It's my best, but after two hours of trying, I gave up before I threw the controller across the room.

@Huldra. The chocobo racing was when you had to race the trainer and had to get a time of under 0.0. The butterfly minigame involved running around Macalania Woods and picking the blue butterflies within a time limit. Catch any red and you'll get into a forced batlle with two seconds removed from the clock. I tried yesterday with a good map and after about 90 minutes of attempts, gave up.

As far as cheats go, I hear you there. I have a PS2 emulator with a copy of FFX International (so the same as the HD version.) I grabbed a FFX save editor, and got the items in that way. You can even unlock the Buster Sword which is in the game files that way. I'm sad to admit that's been the only way I've seen everyone's weapons in action.

Edit: Just to be clear, the copy of FFX International came from a friend of mine that let me burn it onto my hard drive. He was a huge FF nut, even more than I tend to be.

One thing is for sure: I'm not grinding ribbons for the entire party again. I checked my PS3 (I have the physical copy on that console, but the PS3 is dying and I grabbed it on the PSN for the PS4) the time on my last session of FFX clocked in at just over 165 hrs at the final save point. Don't ask what got into me there, but I'm sure as hell not doing that again.

Oh okay well that explains why I don't remember the butterfly one. I usually back out very quickly out of most things that are 'grab x amount of things in x amount of time', I think i did the racing maybe three times before saying screw it and cheating. Course I didn't need much reason to cheat at games as a kid if I found out a game I had, had cheats I'd use them even if I didn't need to^^;

On another note damn I miss FFX heck even FFX-2 a little (though I remember being highly annoyed with the combat and not playing much of that game)

Auron's is pretty easy. His crest is in the dead end of the Old Road (Mi'hen Highroad.) His sigil only involves getting enough monsters captured to do either 10 area creations or 10 original creations. For an area creation, you only need one of each monster for that area. You get it from the arena master the same you would Yuna's sigil.

Rikku isn't too bad, with a walkthrough and No Encounters equipped. Her sigil is easy; just look for a chest on the east side in the western Biknel desert. Her crest involves running around the area looking for cactuars for the prayer stone in the western desert (just above the sandstorm.) You get little clues and find out where they are. You play Red Light Green Light with them, but it doesn't matter if you catch them directly or not. You still get credit. You don't even need to leave the island, except for one of them and he's on the deck of the airship.

I almost ranted earlier because my PS4 plug had a small arc when I plugged it into the surge protector and wouldn't turn on. It turned out that neither me nor Sasquatch could figure out how old the surge protector was, and he had a backup APC/PC 600 watt that wasn't being used in the house. Works fine now.

I should known how much Murphy was gonna love me yesterday when I woke up after 3 hours of sleep and put my foot into an empty soda box.
