The problem is that the current style of moderation is responding to any report (thus the missing hells), circumventing the filter, sometimes troll threads, and pretty hardcore attacks on specific groups. And even those often stay after a lock. If there are specific users, who start trouble in multiple threads, the mods should not lock entire threads, but ban those users. Because after a lock they just move on to their next target. Nothing is solved, you just direct that mess somewhere else on the board.

I've been trying to get my account deleted ever since the Mae thread opened. Obviously the mods don't read their PM's. I even started a thread on the forum help area trying to get them to delete it but still nothing. I tried to say something to get myself in trouble, maybe then I could get their attention but my heart really wasn't in it. The forums are just too unhealthy for me. I regret ever opening myself up to ridicule, I regret ever making friends only to see them all disappear, just want to go back to being invisible.
Apparently they nerfed the option of deleting accounts because people were taking advantage of it. I.e having a large number of warning points to your account, delete your account and it's a clean slate. I'm guessing it was also effective for trolls..
When I am in a really bad mood, which has been quite a bit lately, I find myself getting really pissed off with the people on this forum. But then I remember it's common not only elsewhere on the net, but in the world. It's just forums like these are easier for people to be dicks because they're not known and are anonymous. I'd wager a majority of these idiots wouldn't say the things they say to people's faces irl. And I admit that when I am in a bad mood and I'm feeling condescending, I'm the same way. I would never say the things I say when I get into arguments with people in the workplace where such problems can arise. I would only be comfortable in my own home, if somebody was on my territory.
There are a lot of dicks on the BSN. But there are also some decent, reasonable people too.

I appreciate the support. Thank you.
I don't know if it's coincidence or if she has a long reach but I just heard from a friend she's frustrated with me (rightfully so) but it was good to hear from her and to know we're still friends.
Rl has been a struggle lately as the country has put a bulls eye directly on Trans people's foreheads. A lot of mean spirited crap, my safe haven has always been work but lately I've even been experiencing things there. I could report people for it but I don't want to cause more hate.

I know we agreed to go light on politics, but seriously US - pass the ****** Equality Act already. This rotation of minorities to see what can be taken away every few years has gone on for long enough. And I can't comprehend how a bunch of US citizens would think "yeah great plan, let's make rules for a minority group on how the can use toilets, this has never happened before, and we will definitely be not viewed as lying villains in a few years."
I keep thinking about that "Gathering storm" ad and how persistent human gullibility is.

Got into a car wreck last night on the way to work. Some guy thought he could make a turn when we had a green light and were rolling through an intersection. As far as I know both the drivers are fine, I'm still experiencing neck pain from it so I'm going to the hospital today to get it checked out. Though honestly I'm not at all sure if my neck is in pain currently because of the wreck or because of work, it didn't start hurting till the wreck happened but being at work certainly made it worse.

That really sucks. I hope the pain in your neck clears up soon. I just nearly got into an accident myself; I was in the left lane on a highway when an 18-wheeler right next to me decided that I didn't exist and so therefore he could just change lanes right into where I was. I had to hold down the horn for seemingly forever before he noticed I was there.

Thanks @Biotic Apostate and @Grumpy Old DonkI appreciate the support. I know it isn't much, but I think you need one of these:

I'm very happy that you managed to get in touch with your friend.
As Biotic put it, the US needs to pass the Equality Act already. We're in the future-istic sounding year of 2016. No one should feel unsafe at work or on the street because of how they were born. I swear, there is some people that think about the genitals and the sex lives of others more than than their own.
The lack of empathy is really sad. I don't blame you for wanting to delete your account, though you'd be missed. If the mods can't give you a hand, you can always just abandon it. I had a friend of mine on the forums that did just that. It also leaves the door open in case you can deal with the BSN or if you want to come by the group forum and say hello.

Holy crap. It's good that you're both safe.
When I had my car (that was 1.4m tall) one time on the same day both a construction truck and a bus tried to run me over. First one didn't see me, second one didn't care. I'm, understandably, not a big fan of driving in the city.

Thank you, I so much love Basset hounds, I grew up with one. He was a puppy when I was young child, been hooked ever since.
I've always been oversensitive and it get's the best of me sometimes. It used to drive my father nuts, well that and he used to say that I was the most hard headed kid he's ever seen, I'm actually kind of proud of that.

Smug, condescending bigotry and moral condemnation, mixed with inaccurate beliefs about the Qunari?
Petrice from Dragon Age 2 was just the worst, wasn't she? ![]()
(By crazy random happenstance I'm currently replaying the game and have just hit Act 2. I'm actively dreading having to deal with both Sebastian and Petrice at the same time.)

Turns out it's just whiplash but they told me not to go to work for the next couple of days. Hopefully I don't get in too much trouble for missing out during a holiday weekend.

Yes! Petrice is haunting BSN, I will accept nothing else.
Maker, I hate Sebastian. Saying no to him at the end was probably the most satisfying interaction I had with him. Good luck with those two ![]()

I'm fond of Basset hounds as well... although for the extremely daft reason that one of them appears as a side character in the Great Mouse Detective, which was probably one of my favourite Disney flicks when I was growing up. ![]()
(And now I really think about it, that was an extremely dark and disturbing film aimed towards kids. The Nostalgia Critic is right, what is it with kids films from the 80s trying to mentally scar children?)

If I could offer more than my sympathy, I would.
As I can't, I offer this like in the hope that you won't delete your account again.
You're too nice to deserve half the crap you get and yet you remain one of the nicest people on this site despite everything.
I can't help but admire that.
Anyway, just my 2 cents. I hope everything works out for you.

I have real life vent I need to get out of my system. My oldest and dearest friend of nearly 20 years has more or less turned into white trash. He's disintegrating due to severe depression. I'll call him Zack to ease up on the pronouns and spoiler tags to save space.
Spoiler
Your friend may need to hit rock bottom before he starts to help himself.
My best friend went through something similar when he lost custody of his son and it took him getting drunk and then arrested before he got his **** together.

This kind of seems at odds with the games themselves. DA, ME, and JE all had mature/17+ ratings, two of the series also because of strong language. You could paste the ESRB blurb for DAI here and get a warning for swearing.
But you don't need to use strong language to discuss any of those games. The games are creations, the forums are a space to discuss those creations, not a reflection of them. We don't solve 90% of problems here through violence either unfortunately.
Also the ESRB rates Sonic Chronicles as E for everyone ![]()

I'd like to be able to use language I use pretty much all other places. This is only forum with filter that I visit really. Even worse when they filter scientific words like ****** sapiens, like wtf.
