I'm kind of over people who don't understand what sarcasm is.

(edit: in regards to Sarcastic Hawke not trolling)

I know what you mean. Sarcastic Hawke is one of my favorite things about DA2. They aren't even my default Hawke, and I'm fully aware that they have flaws, but it's depressing when people oversimplify those flaws into the primary characteristics of the personality.

And it seems like the biggest offender is the Viscount son scene, which was a stupid idea to make that an auto dialogue moment

Refresh my memory on that DA2 scene, please, and keep me from throwing my PC through a window and out into the pouring rain :pinched: ...and dammit I'm out of rum too

Wait, what? People don't like Sarcastic Hawke? Then how do they play Dragon Age II? There is only one way, sarcasm.

I have to admit that I ended up having more fun with aggressive Hawke.

Reminds me, I still need to read the Masked Empire

It's good. So good. But only if you like wrestling with the urge to punch fictional characters in the face.

Well, there is a new issue of the Magekiller comic coming out on the 16th and Dorian (and the Chargers) has a cameo in it. Does that count?

I dunno... it depends how nasty people get! There's a thin line between lulz and awful. And I cross it at least three times per day.

I have to admit that I ended up having more fun with aggressive Hawke.

I love aggressive Hawke too, if only for Merrill's introduction scene. Hawke's a douche and Carver turns into a PERFECT GENTLEMAN: "Ignore my older brother, miss. He's being more of an ass than usual. I'm Carver Hawke."

 He calls her miss... and introduces himself with his full name. My precious babbu.

It's this dialogue (after Saemus is killed):
Viscount: What hope for this city, when we fail our own so completely?
Hawke: At least it can't get worse! Today, anyway. It's pretty late.

After that Aveline calls him out:
Aveline: 'It's pretty late'? You ass.

With responses like
'That's me, healing the poor, feeding the sick, and patting the hungry on the head'
And
'You killed Mekel!'
'What's a Mekel?'
And
'I'll only wear dresses that are absolutely festooned with ruffles' (for a male Hawke for plus points)
And
Tallis: What do you call it when you kill someone and take their stuff?
Hawke: ...Adventuring!
Sarcastic Hawke is my favourite thing ever and I will fight you!

Sarcastic Hawke is almost as fond of dragons as Bull is. They need their own buddy cop movie.

If they could, you know, get over that Qun business.

Exactly. It's really the only way I can get to the end of that game at all.

Oh god, I'm not even going to click on that Dorian thread.

This will not end well.

It's fine for now. Of course it could end very badly, since one of my favourite people from BSN joined in...

I'm far more annoyed by the fact that a developer comes into the Andromeda twitter thread, and people immediately start pestering him about the ME3 ending... Just let it go already.

Hnnn. Suppose I shouldn't worry then. I just groan when I see threads about characters I like that aren't 1) their actual fan threads or 2) asking a specific question, because uuuuusually what happens is folks start guzzling the Haterade and ranting about how ******-poor the character is and ain't nobody got time for that. It's not Dorian-specific. Bull gets it, and Sera, and Blackwall, and... *cough*

Which, to each their own! I'm just not gonna click it.

Where is this new Dorian thread? I didn't see one in the story and character section.

Re-installing windows and all programs from scratch, while not -- in some ways -- as difficult as it used to be, is still no fun at all, especially when you throw a seven-hour power outage into the mix. Still, things are slowly getting back to normal. Of course I haven't gotten to the installing games part yet. I can hear my monthly bandwidth cap groaning under the strain already... you know how you kinda say "ouch!" in anticipation before the doctor sticks you with the needle?

Rpers that are utterly against s/s pairings confuse me, maybe cause I make a lot of bi characters and two of my favorite ones strongly prefer their own gender? I just don't really get it. Guess this is less of a vent and more of a confused observation.

Yep, it's role-playing after all, for any of the romantic pairings.

Maybe I would be less confused if this didn't usually pop up in fluff rps or rps where smut would be really weird and it didn't apply to my characters as well? Eh this is why I make nearly all my characters bi for the very likely chance the person I'm rping with is against the s/s stuff and when they're cool with it I get to play some of my characters like how they were originally written.

Sorry, need some clarification, heh. Are we talking about computer games?

Ah no my mistake I'm talking about doing text style rps with other people. It's something I do a lot of in my free time, pretty fun you get to meet new people. I just noticed that a lot of people looking for other people to do rps with them have a whole no same sex pairing rule which applies then to my characters as well if I choose to rp with them. My apologies for not making it clear. I hope I cleared it up some instead of making it more confusing.

:D No it's okay. You did clear it up, thank you. The general conversation in the thread -- apart from my windows issues -- has been on DA, so I was just kinda jumping in.
