So I originally posted this on tumblr and a lot of it probably requires a decent knowledge of lore to understand. But I am going to cross post it here.

In the world of Thedas magic has three different power sources,

Blood, The Fade, and The Void/Stone. These sources normally are best kept separate.

Each power source is connected in some way to a realm of existence if you will.

The original most powerful beings were so powerful and still are because they can combine magic sources and have it be not only just as powerful, but more powerful. These are the Great Dragons, the Titans, And the Blight Thingy. Now the Blight Thingy was not always the Blight Thingy. It got corrupted! More on that later.

Originally all the realms were connected. However right now the connection between The Fade and The Stone is sundered by something. This has VERY much weakened he Titans.

The veil has sundered the connection between the Fade and Thedas. This weakened the great dragons.

The connection that has not been sundered is the one between Thedas and the stone/void So the blight is just as powerful as ever.

So how did the blight start? It’s complicated. And I’m not positive about this part. (Or any of this but especially this part)

Valta theories about “the original broodmother” inside the earth.

Basic concept. Corruption occurs when you bring opposite magic and have it apply to one of the great creatures.

We have the tainted titian and lyrium idol because SOME IDIOT decided to try to use blood magic on a titan

Andruil came back from the void and tried to do things with High Dragons thus her issue.

Someone used fade magic on the Blight Thingy.

Now that we have that let's continue

First lets look at magic. Blood/fade/void

We know how magic works for blood and fade “ A mage uses magic by tapping into the power of the Fade to essentially question reality, rendering it mutable and able to be reshaped. To this end, templars are the ideal foils for mages, having been trained specifically to counter and “deny” magic"

ok so basically Blood magic uses the power of real life, of reality, to shape spells. Fade magic uses the fade's power with it being a place of unfixed existence.

Side note: this is why blood magic can be so unexpected as in Last Flight. You are creating reality not changing it as fade magic does.

You got that? Thedas is reality, Fade is unfixed reality

The void, as we see in the void magic performed in The Calling, draws its power from lack of reality. It works by literally dissolving reality out of existence instead of changing it as fade magic does or creating it as blood magic seems to.

Still with me here? Good,

According to the prima game guide  “ Spirits whose realms are flocked with visitors rise to rule great portions of the Fade, while memories and concepts forgotten in the real world slowly drift away back into the ether, the spirits who ruled them losing all potency”

This ether is also known as the abyss or void. Its the raw waters of the fade. It is nothing but nothing is powerful because nothing is just energy that has not been shaped yet.

This is the fade in its natural state. Before people touch it with their perceptions

Its also a storage place for the souls of the dead before they return

The void is the land of the dead. (as stated by so many cultures in thedas) Thedas is the land of the living. And the fade is the land of those who can neither live nor die.

Now then.

Titans figured out how to have dwarves not enter the fade. But instead be drawn to them and their wellspring to from their own private pool of knowledge.  These were the original memories. The accumulated knowledge of generations at the finger tips of new dwarves.

Sound like anything? The well of Sorrows. The elves took lyrium and “something else” That something else was souls.

This is how imortality works. Circumventing the void. Or rather making sure your full being is brought out into a new body.

Well I've read it , some interesting stuff.

I tried to reply but I'm a all over the place type of person , so I went oh this I agree this!Oh I never thought about that !*struggle with multiple quote* mmmm , not sure about that, *go into weird rant about personal tinfoil hat theory ,* *look at senseless wall of text going all over the place , give up and despair.*

Anyway I like the paragraph about immortality , because I remember Flemythal lamenting "Without an end there can be no peace".And I thought mmmmm.

Part I'm really confused about is Valta and the "Broodmothers" in the Earth?

Why are you combining the void and the stone?
