It's funny how even as I was actively trying to leave the Hinterlands I kept getting sucked into side quests. "I'll just grab a few Drakestone before I go..." Finally made it back to Haven, where I promptly spent 45 minutes fiddling with smith crafting a new dagger for Wallace (which I named the Drake Fang - much cooler than the name the game suggested) and a new shield for Cassandra (Summer's Tower). Apparently she's now sporting a shade of pink, looks good on her. I chatted up my party members for a bit. Their stories are already engaging, even though they are reluctant to share much with the new Inquisitor. Hopped over Val Royeuax (I'm going to misspell this every time I type it). That went well... The chantry cleric who wasn't important enough to be invited to the Conclave stated yelling at me from her little stage before being knocked out by seeker Lucious. Then the Mage leader approached me in an alley. It appears I'll have a decision to make when I get back to Haven. Vivianne's now a part of the team, and seems to be a Rock Star. I'm definitely adding her to the lineup. I picked up Sera as well. She seems...well let's just say I'm suspicious she's tried a bit too much of the herbs I'm constantly collecting. The team is growing. My power and influence is growing. It feels as if things are about to take off.

Even if you're going to recruit the Templars, you may wish to visit Fiona in Redcliff and hear out the mages. You'll learn some unusual stuff about the story, and meet someone interesting. It won't affect your ability to get the Templars, either.

Thanks for this. I was curious to go see Redcliff and how the mages were faring, but was afraid that would lock me into a choice. Wallace is a fairly noble and open-minded chap, but the crazy-mage air from Kirkwall is hard to forget! (at least for this character)

Don't worry, you can only lock in the choice at the wartable after hearing Fiona out. Both the Templar and Mage missions lock in at the wartable. Thanks for this. Wallace made it to Redcliffe last night. The time warp/no one having any idea he was coming was a bit strange. (For me it was odd seeing the windmill from DAO crumbling and forgotten, and it's only been a few weeks since I played the game. I'm guessing it pulled heartstrings for those of you who had years between seeing it for the first time and then in this game). He quickly confronted the tanner and turned her into an agent. He's got his eyes on the deft hands/lock picking perk and building towards that. Tons of missions available in Redcliffe Village, and I ignored all of them for now. Wallace and the crew (Cassandra, Vivienne, and Solas) were flabbergasted that Fiona and the mages had indentured themselves to the Tevinter Magister. Really? The guy exudes shadiness down to the weird robe he was wearing. Vivenne practically yelled, "You guys are making mages look like fools!" Of course he's up to something, bending time and all so he and his Tevinter Sumpremacist can get at Wallace for some reason. We met Dorian (second sweet stache on the party), who I'm guessing will catch up with us later. Back at the war table Wallace sent his agents out on missions, then made the decision to approach the Templars instead of the Mages. It was a tough choice, as he knows they are both in the wrong here. Obviously there is scandal within the Templar ranks as well, and obviously there are good mages. But he is from the Free Marches, and the idea that at any point a mage can go blood magic/abomination/spirit possessed crazy...it just seems as if a strong (and hopefully honorable) Templar order is going to be necessary to watch out for that. He by no means is a fan of annulment, tranquility, or any of those extreme measures. For Wallace, who believes Andraste chose him for this role, his ideal would be empowering Circles, with happy mages coexisting beside their "protector" Templars, not their "jailors". Anyway, he made the decision to pursue the Templar Order with the Orlesian nobles (the most annoying of which now is laying in the castle with a friggin' arrow in his forehead.). I'm rolling with Cassandra (she'll always be along as Wallace is hopelessly smitten already), Iron Bull, and Solas for this mission. We'll pick up with seeing what the heck is going on with these Templars soon.

I played short stent last night. This game gives me more of an urge to swap out party members to experiences their banter. None of them feels "weak" at this point, all are very capable of defending themselves and dishing out a fair amount of damage, this even prior to specializations. I'm enjoying the variety, more so than in I and II.

I finished Champions of the Just. Wallace could tell something was off with the Lord Seeker, but was surprised to find red lyrium taint and demon possession to be the problem. Kids these days! He was reassured by the strong pocket of noble Templars remaining and was able to clear out the red Templars an destroy the Envy Demon (DW is great, but I have to remember to weave in and out of battle. When I find myself trying to fight like a warrior the potion chugging commences!). The Demon (Fade?) sequence was mercifully short. I feared a repeat of the Circle Fade sequence from DAO when it began. I would have had palpitations had I seen a series of mouse holes... In the end Wallace recruited the Templars as partners, believing himself to be the Herald of Andraste. This pleased Cassandra and Blackwall (and surprisingly Iron Bull and Vivienne). Solas was not so much a fan. I've a feeling he and Wallace may not end up fast friends. Now we are back at Haven. I need to sort through equipment, craft upgrades, and touch base with the crew. Cole is a wild card. Wallace kept him around due to his help with the Envy Demon. It was great when he appeared on the war table and everyone flipped out. Ha!

The Elder One looked remarkably similar to the bad guy from Legacy.
It's the same guy.

Actually, yes, it's the same guy. Corypheus. Don't worry, you'll find a new base that I think you'll love.

I don't know how many months it took me to have a clear grasp on how to reach Vivienne in Skyhold.
I opened many many door.
After I was done with Vivienne and patting myself on the back , I then realised I was still confused about how to reach Skyhold gardens to find Mother Giselle.

I suggest you play as a dual wielding warrior since you will never have the chance in any other game to play as a dual wielding warrior. It's a lot of fun.
