Everything has TOO MUCH DAMN health... i mean my characters are already too OP to even die (mostly my tanks and myself that move around because solas still dies because he has downs AI), like is not fun AT ALL, is not a challenge is ANNOYING... like every battle takes minutes and minutes and minutes because too much health and **** barriers or guard... is just BORING, this is why i hate artificial difficulty settings.

Once you craft OP weapons, things won't survive for very long either. Alternatively, re-roll as a rogue. Once you get your rogue specialisations, nothing lasts long enough.

Reavers are also good for demolishing enemies quickly, though not as good as rogues.

Of course, none of this will actually add to the difficulty, but it will alleviate the lengthy battle times.

Yeah you are probably right, my main is a Rift mage and its my main damage dealer, probably with a rogue everything would die sooner, but i prefer mages... they made mages pretty meh in this game to be honest, not any spell is really powerfull or comeplig to use...

I should just probably make a "focus" oriented build to spam focus abilities whenever im able to do it, or just lower the difficulty which i dont really want to but im getting really bored of the game with those hp pools.

I had this problem regardless of difficulty. Enemy health pools are absurd in DA:I. Since the enemies are super-though but not a threat, it's just tedious, not challenging.

Depends on when and where you hit stuff, doesn't it. Unless I'm getting a display error from Walk Softly, I'm regularlyhitting L14 Elite Freemen who are hitting for something like 500 damage. That does a lot of damage to someone in T2 gear.

And yeah, they have a boatload of HP. I'm just saying that I'm still seeing dangerous attacks.

Do you have the Trespasser DLC? The trials are somewhat refreshing, especially even ground, walk softly and rub some dirt on it. Also, the toggles for ability upgrades can be game changing. Flaming array for fire mine springs to mind, as well as the ring of doubt. Once you have the ring, your mage will auto-crit from stealth, allowing you to pump up your crit damage, which can get some tasty numbers from fire mine and winters grasp/winter's ruin.

I have them and im playing with even ground and the other one that "promotes" enemies and suposedly makes enemies "harder".

The flaming arraw works best on a knight enchanter, Pull of the abyss new form with the normal fire mine is the best for riftmage since you pull everybody in one go at the mine, still mage skills are pretty meh and underpowered/underwhelming for me, rogues are the kings in this game.

Well, if single-target damage is your metric, then sure.

Health and guard wasn't too bad. It's the barriers that got really annoying to me. Especially on Elite Despair Demons. Chasing those things down and wailing on them, only to see yourself do 500 points of real HP damage before they flitter off with another full barrier. They certainly live up to their names, I'll give them that.

Well, then I guess it's a good thing that you can TURN THEM OFF.

I doubt there is a fix for that, longer fights are preferable to random reloads, playing a game where I am just reloading to effect the die is as bad

Nope, longer fights just mashing buttons is not preferable at least if you died more often and the enemies had less health you would have to be more aware on what you are actually doing to not die rather than just sleep wihle you mash buttons mindlessly, this is like the worst "hardest" difficulty i have seen in a game, is probably the hardest not because there is a challenge but because the challenge itself its to endure the boring painfull combat without lowering the difficulty to make the torture stop.

You can say anything you like, of course. You can even use ALL CAPS. But you have to admit, complaining about an optional mechanic in a game is like a kid complaining about his head hurting when he hits it with a hammer.

The boring part for me aren't the fights, its all the time spent in between the fights.  I suppose Golden Nug was supposed to be their response for part of this, but it just makes the crafting system even more imbalanced than it was unless you make up your own restrictions.  Too bad established camps aren't persistent.

Guard and barrier was mostly just sleight of hand to keep healing in the game while "removing healing."  For players and enemies.

Bring an archer artificer (Varric) that has the "Pincushion" passive from the archery tree, and set leaping shot to preferred. The enemies won't live long enough for you to complain about them. :P

Seriously, patch 10 made all of the classes OP as hell, just a matter of how you build your character.

As of enemies' health pool, if you don't want to spend time on the crafting system, then you will have to make up for that time in battle. Seems fair enough for me.

If you find the game is generally lacking challenge and enjoys more challenging battles, go play MP Heartbreaker difficulty with a no-promote account. You will quickly realise why SP is also known as the "tutorial mode".

Easy now... That would ruin many players' idea of "challenge" ;).

Gold nug, toggle abilities (fire mine, immolate, barrier, winters grasp, combat roll, horn of valor, poison cloud, etc. Definitely overpowered.), new OP accessories (death syphon, barrier, pact belts, Andraste's Sacrefice, ring of doubt, etc), and of course, even more OP schematics (chromatic greatsword, Encore, elganan enaste, etc).

Let's face it, the new trials does add some more challenge to the good old SP experience, but all those new goodies are game changing too. Enemies are made tougher, yes, but now you are also more OP.

Don't know how much gear is actually in the last two patches, there are some oddball things I ran across.  I guess it is the relics that are in the patch, so Doubt is one of them. Livid is better than Unbowed I guess.  Spirit blade may be better or worse depending on your point of view.  Don't know that the relics improve warrior much.  Nug is more powerful than most any of it really.

Toggles are DLC.

edit:

One that is odd though is the War Horn upgrade, which is listed in my vanilla game as Seize the Moment... I thought that was supposed to be the Trespasser version.  Reaver in MP still listed as Break Their Spirit.

I remember some weirdness when 10 came out and some of the toggles showed even though they didn't do anything w/o Trespasser, but spec'ing into War Horn / Seize the Moment appears to actually have Seize the Moment, and toolbar lists "snare horn."
