Based on ideas I saw on a couple of threads I figure it could be sort of... awesome actually.

 

Romance scenes will work the way they do currently, except you'll be given a series of paragon/renegade interrupts every so often, and depending on the option chosen Ryder will perform a more intimate/sweet/sexy action or a more wild/spicy/nasty action (E.G. kissing the neck, running fingertips along chest, and slow grinding with the hips for paragon, and biting the neck, clawing the chest and back, and riding like a bucking bronco for renegade) as the scene continues you'll have to react faster and continue making the "right" choices and if you manage to see it through you'll be rewarded with a special "climax" scene.

 

The catch though, is that different LIs will have different sexual tastes and be doing their own versions of paragon/renegade actions to YOU, and depending on how you respond/behave they may become turned off or even furious and force you off of them and end the encounter immediately, and Ryder can do the same. Regardless of who terminated the moment, sexual incompatibility will be a big issue you'll need to address with LIs and failure to find a resolution will have dire and probably irreversible consequences.

There is no way to pull this off without it being awkward as hell. At most, I could see maybe giving us one or two dialogue choices with the possibility of saying something offensive or overly saccharine that would spoil the moment for the LI. (I imagine saying "I love you" during sex to someone with commitment issues would freak them out).

 

Actually having the player engage in multiple choice sex scenes, though? Yeah, no thanks.

With what happened with the Grand Theft Auto "Hot Coffee" issue, I would think making it the way you are describing it could lead to a possible AO rating.

Not saying the idea could not work if it was well executed, but honestly just having a short cut scene would be easier and get the point across.

Blow it too soon with the quarian? Congrats, you just commited murder via cross species fluid contact.

 

Drell? You just ingested a hallucinogen. Have fun playing an interactive level where you're being chased by Thriller monsters.

 

Turian? Like the quarian, but in reverse.

 

Asari? She gets knocked up and leaves you paying child support for the remaining 100 years of your life.

 

Krogan? Crushed into a critical mission failure screen.

 

Synthetic? It malfunctions, and the damage sets off a built in safety protocol,  shutting it down with you stuck inside, causing all your friends to find out and subsequently laugh at you as you make the walk of shame down to the medbay/ to get the grinder with the platform still stuck to you
