All ships in the future should have some sort of VI/AI on board to handle all of the stuff that people just can't do (or don't want to do). An AI though provides a much larger playing field for that interface to develop. You could have it go all Destroyer of Species and murder the entire crew for sexual pleasure or something. A VI won't do that!

the same reason MiGs or F-16s from *insert random 3rd world "air force"* don't have Red Star/USAF roundels on them. Doesn't mean that they had anything to do with making it. Those humans were still trying to design the primitive Mauser (1895CE) when our Widow was already in use.

or cybernetically enhanced quarian (i.e. all of them), whenever a loyal robot servant isn't available to do the dirty work, of course. You're soft, asari, salarians, all soft.
Nevermind that science lesson courtesy of Grunt, though. We see augmented asari firing them in ME3 (Armali sniper unit). I can even put one on a volus. Space Jebus isn't that special.
You're all trying too hard to deny that which is obvious. We invented the best pistol (Arc), the "best" "shotgun" (Reegar, though I prefer Claymoar even if it's not as efficient) and the best grenade (Arc ). We also invented the Widow until the geth propaganda film is retconned from existence.

Not really, it was never used by a Quarian on screen and it was just lying on the ground, presumably carried there by a Geth.
Maybe it was tossed in some local arms lockup the Quarians had wherever the heck that firefight occurred, point being that there is no indication besides it presence on Rannoch that it was Quarian, that's it. And that to me means nothing because I frigging import guns, I bought a British sniper rifle, I use a Austrian handgun and a Italian shotgun.

Remember what Legion said, when Shepard asked why the quarians had those special suits on? Something about how Shepard only knows them with the suits so it can not show them without the suits? Maybe the same goes for this weapon. Shepard wouldn't know what the weapon looked like so it just placed a familiar weapon in its place.
I also remember seeing the quarian soldiers there using the annoying burst gun. Same thing applied I guess.

The M249 doesn't share the same bore axis, you have energy transferring back at a different spot when you shoot it standing unlike a shouldered rifle, and notice how it was held akimbo style like some stupid action movie, bet that guy's wrists were killing him for days doing that stupid stunt. But truthfully? It depends a lot on the build of a person, and that guy looked to be in decent shape and pretty strong given totting around twenty pounds per hand.
I liked EDI, and I'd like to see another AI. Perhaps we could have an Andromedan AI infiltrate our ship, not for nefarious purposes
