Just started last mission. I choose Thane for specialist since he is sneaky and all and then choose Garus to lead second squad just because he the kind of guy who will get job done.

Lets hope we all make it.............

this has worked for everyone so far (at least those with all loyalty mission done):

1st Leader: Garrus

Tech: Tali

2nd Leader: Miranda

Bio: Subject Zero

Escort: Zaeed

final squad tali and mordin

I used Mordin as my tech, since he's a genius and what not.

He died, haha.

The short description of Mordin on the selection screen for the mission said quite clearly that his specialty was biological science stuff not technical stuff.

I figured he'd be smart enough to figure it out, and I mean he was my least favorite so I wasn't too horribly upset.
He died like a champ.

I used Legion for the vent run, Miranda for fire-team B, sent Jakob back with the crew, put Garrus in charge of the second phase team guarding the door and had full loyalty and all upgrades...

Everyone survived.

I was going to use Legion to, I didn't want him to forsure die though. Because I love him.

Make sure you use a biotic for the swarm part, fyi.

Yeah - Samara did the business for me on the swarm run.

Im at that part now i let Legion go with rest of crew and defend them ones left behind. And Meiranda to lead second squad i have a feeling some else is going to die. I may reload and try again.

Me too.

I thought she was gonna give out on me there for a second though.

I was tempted to use Jack, becuase I think she'd the strongest biotic. But, I decided against it.

I think reloading when something doesn't go as expected undermines the whole finale sequence. No plan survives first contact with the Collectors. Play through and mourn the losses or bask in the glory if you somehow manage to pull your entire team out alive first go.

Good point. I may just make new character do different choices and accept that some people died and that will carry over to me3 for me.

Alas, my first and rather unplanned play ended up with Legion dead and Samara dead.

I knew I should have paid for the Ablative Undercoating for Legion.

Chances are - since any character can potentially die - you won't be fielding that same crew in Mass Effect 3. Those that survive will probably be written out of the final part of the trilogy much like the characters from ME1 were moved into the background for this game.

I imagine we will be given an excuse to start over with an entirely new crew in ME3 - maybe an entirely different ship along with them. Which is a shame. I liked this bunch.

I think some will carry over like 2 ones form me1. But ya i think you should be able to choose a few of old crew to come.

Im still wondering why my Mordin died for no reason.

He just simply died at the end of the game, and I didnt even use him.

It will be a crime against video games if Mordin Solus is not on the roster for ME3.

Tali is a fave too (and not just because we have a thing going on...) so I hope she returns.

Legion is interesting, Grunt isn't as good as Wrex, Garrus never grabbed me like he seems to grab others...

The rest I could take or leave. They aren't bad characters per se - just not particular favourites.
