I'm sure we all have some headcanon ideas that we throw around to make our stories flow better. I've thought up plenty, but my personal favorite is one I'm quite proud of. My personal favorite character in DA2 is Bethany, and it always bothered me how she never really got the happy, fairytale ending she craved and deserved. So, I thought up a way. In Inquisition, since Leliana is Divine in my worldstate, the mages are finally free. Therefore, Bethany no longer has to hide, or be locked away. Since Varric is the new Viscount, he names Bethany the heir to the Amell estate, and everything that entails. Hawke was all too glad to let Bethany be the lady of the family, it allowed him to sail off with Isabela into the sunset. So now, Bethany has the noble, glamorous life that she's always wanted. But that's not enough. I also imagine that, at a diplomatic party, Bethany happens to meet King Alistair, which leads to a mutual attraction, courtship, and eventual marriage. Bethany and Alistair are way too alike for them not to be perfect for each other. Since mages are now widely accepted throughout Thedas, Ferelden has no problem with a mage queen, especially when they find out she's the sister to the Champion, and the cousin of my personal Hero of Ferelden. And thus, everyone lives happily ever after. Cheesy? Corny? Absolutely, but I'm a sucker for stories like this. That's my favorite headcanon. What about you guys?
What are your favorite headcanons?

I've had a few that I've seen and liked, but the one that immediately springs to mind (despite the fact that yes, I realize it's since been explicitly contradicted) is the idea that Mahariel and Tabris are half-siblings by way of their mutually absent mother. It's pretty pointless, especially since at least one of them is definitely dead in canon no matter what, but there's just something about it that I like.

I like to think that the mabari dog is travelling with the HoF in his quest to cure the Taint. That even after the years spent with Morrigan in the eluvian crossroads, they still met again.

The reason that Oghren, Sigrun, Nathaniel and Velanna aren't in DAI even if they're all still alive is that they're traveling with the Hero of Ferelden or the Orlesian Warden on the quest to find the cure. (I mean, I don't know about your Wardens, but my 'canon' archer rogue definitely needed a party with her to operate effectively.)

I wish i could come up with some. But i just don't like making things up for characters when i know that the next game may blow my idea up and/or every other player of the game has their own ideas so mine obviously isn't official. I like things to be official.

I don't have any "headcannons" to bad.. I could use cannons to blow the enemy to smithereens.
Anyway.. Tidus stays drunk in the Denerim Alienage after his love return to the Chantry and toasts his love when she became the Devine.. Other wise he's a forgotten hero since some Shems swear King Alistair is the rightful HoF not a some stinking knife ear. He never sees Morrigan and his son even though he often thinks of them.
Camine marries a Denerim merchant and lives the quiet life..For unknown reasons she never receives her "calling" and lives to be 83.
Chasha return to the Circle and after a few months slips away to join Lanaya's clan.. She dies eight years after the blight from a fever.
-------------------------------------------
DA:I endings:
Tidus marries Josephine against the wishes of her family. Tidus was exiled from his clan for marrying a Shemlin..
Camine returns to her clan and was exiled. No one knows where she went but, rumor persist she join Lanaya's clan in Southern Ferelden.
Chasha refuse to marry Sera and remains at Skyhold as a advisor.
DA:A
Tidus and Velanna becomes close friends and some say far beyond being just "friends"...
Perfect Hollywood endings for the same stars..

Cassandra plans to unleash the Exalted March against Varric after she read the book, which turns out to portray a way more unflattering side of her.
The cancelled DLC was going to end with the revelation that the EM wasn't against Hawke's participation in the Chantry's destruction but for Varric's latest novel.
Yes that is one of the largest unanswered questions at this point, I think, and one I'm worried will never be answered. Unless they have a role with awakened darkspawn and Weisshaupt. Nathaniel seems like a writer's pet so I'd be surprised if it's the last we hear from him. But I'm afraid both Sigrun and Velanna will never be heard from again, since they weren't even mentioned in the Keep.
For me, I only headcanon small things since subsequent games usually negate anything larger. For instance, I headcanon that my Hawke sent a romanced Anders away after blowing up the Chantry due to his disgust and betrayal. Sebastian still left for Starkhaven vowing revenge. But Anders eventually found his way back to Hawke and they set out to find a way to remove Vengeance. Maybe after the events of JOH they go to the Avvar and are successful.

I headcanon that my Warden and Anders were very close friends. He gave my Warden his earring as a gift. That was my headcanon and then in DA2 I noticed that Anders actually no longer had that earring.
Another headcanon was about Hawke... instead of letting Zevran go I imagine he either let the Crows kill him or killed him himself because he wants nothing to do with assassins and hates elves. He also killed Anders after the destruction of the Chantry. Naturally my Warden would not be very happy to learn that Hawke had killed two close friends of his. So when Varric at the end of DA2 says that Hawke has disappeared, I headcanon that my Warden hunted him down and killed Hawke & his family (wife and very young son) in vengeance. It was an epic battle in the burning ruins of the Hawke Manor. That headcanon was sort of scrapped after what happened in DAI but I was fine with that since that game gave me real opportunity to kill Hawke for good. I still like to imagine that my Warden was somehow involved in the events that led to Hawkes death... pulling the strings from the shadows or something like that. Maybe even helping Erimond trick the Grey Wardens into an alliance with Corypheus and luring Hawke & the Inquisitor to Adamant...

My main is now a rogue, but my favorite headcanon was for the Circle mage... I took the story Vivienne mentions about your mentor being killed by a fellow student. I kind of headcanoned that he was my friend, and when the Circle fell, my Trevelyan chased him down like Obi-Wan hunting down like Anakin. His friend turned into an abomination and that's where my mage's nasty scar came from. He won the fight, and just felt at a loss wandering in the outside. He didn't go back to the Circle right away.. but when he finally met up with them, they urged him to go the Conclave and speak for them.

Nothing earth-shattering, but I have one where my femCousland who married Alistair had a romantic relationship with Nathaniel back when they were younger, which is why Arl Howe sent Nate to the Free Marches. When they're reunited in Awakening, things kind of re-kindle.

Here's another headcanon for my Inquisitor Lavellan.
After disbanding the Inquisition she left Skyhold and disappeared from the public eye. She traveled to the abandoned Temple of Mythal. It's now guarded by spirits (similar to the ones in the sanctuary of Fen'Harel) who keep all unwanted outsiders away. She brought an Eluvian with her and uses it to travel to the Crossroads. She spends most of her time in the Shattered Library translating all those books from ancient elven language to modern elven and common tongue, so that all elves may read and learn about their history.
She is also writing a memoir.. so that they may one day learn the truth about the Evanuris, Fen'Harel and what really happened to the ancient elves. She gave up her vallaslin and can never return to the dalish. If she told them what she now knows they would most likely not believe her and try to attack or even kill her for telling 'lies.' Still she will not give up on them but instead tries to find another way to help them. I headcanon that despite losing her arm the anchor itself is still part of her (I hope this is actually true). The Spirit of Justinia told us that the anchor cannot be "removed without your death", and I think the anchor should be for the Inquisitor like what the spirit of Mythal is to Flemeth: "she is a part of me, no more separate than your heart is from your chest."
I'm not sure what she's going to do with the books once she's done translating them... maybe leave them in the Temple or somewhere else where the future elves may one day find them. If she would give them to the dalish now they would probably just burn them as heresy or something.

* Queen Cousland and Alistair had a kid. One boy. They used magic to get an heir though, despite them both not wanting too, they uh did in secret so that'd they'd have an heir.
* King Cousland and Anora were childless in the end. Despite Cousland being fertile (having kids with Morrgian) they never had a child. Eventually Anora was dethroned by my King Coulsand, who allowed his second born son to have the throne (Morrigan and King Cousland had two children).
* Lavellan married Cassandra. Yay! Had another kid before marriage though with Cass. I don't know what's up with my Lavellen...
*My other Lavellan fell into a depression after Solas abandoned her for the second time, and left the Inquiston to join her tribe, who were still alive. Although she's realty there to warn all of her tribe about Solas's plan though...
*My Trevelyan was happy with Cullen. Not much else to say though.
*My Canon Hawke tried to steal a Griffin from Weissaup; not his grandest plan ever. He was caught immedately, though they let Hawke go for some reason *cough* Queen Cousland caught him and decided to be merciful towards Hawke *cough*

My Neria Surana ends up living near Redcliffe (since I really enjoyed that town) and retires to a quiet life of contemplation and fishing till her Calling. Maybe ends up romancing Teagan.
Kit Hawke sails away with Isabela on her ship bringing Merrill along for drinking, a third for wicked grace and singing shanty songs.
Arianni Lavellan marries Cullen and helps him open a rehab center for recovering Templars while she plots how to redeem her friend/mentor Solas and stop him from his idiot plans.
Of course, only one of these is actually feasible/backed up by game events, but it's still fun to speculate.

My second Inquisitor, Dahlena, is my first Lavellan's, mother. I like the idea of them both existing in a similar way to how the different Warden's exist, even if you don't pick that Origin. Unfortunately I stopped playing as Dahlena once I realised that in her world state, Ellana is going to get horribly murdered by Wycome...
I also head cannon that my Hawke semi-hooked up with warden Alistair. That makes 2/3 protagonists in my default World State that have both slept with, and then died for Alistair. (I don't even like the guy?!?

Well, my Warden romanced Morrigan but chose not to follow her through the Eluvian. When Morrigan shows up in DA:I it is clear that the realtionship is over but she does not explicitly state whether or not she and The Warden are still friends or if he has met his son. My headcannon is that they are still close and my Warden IS NOT a deadbeat dad and still has a presence in his son's life. The only reason that I didn't go through the Eluvian is that I thought that meant that the Warden would disappear and skimp on his duties as Warden Commander. DA:I reveals that this isn't the case. I could simply play it again or change it via the world state but I like to keep myself honest and make my first play-through my canon.

My canon Mage, Rywick, is doomed to love a human female named Angharad, who is in love with Nathaniel and ends up marrying him. In the same tale, Alistair is married to Anora, a business arrangement, but is quite happy with his Royal Mistress (an Orleasian no less). Carver is under Nathaniel's command and learns to accept being in his sister Miri's shadow. She is happily in love with Fenris and is pregnant when she goes to help the Inquisitor, which is why Stroud, who commanded both Nathaniel and Carver at one time, stays behind so that her baby might live. Rywick has gone in search of a cure for the joining, but being a seer (as is Angharad) he reaches out to her across the Fade in time to save Angharad's life. He is also considering joining Solas's revolution (you can guess how they met).

After the events of Asunder. Hawke and Anders had plans to help the Fereldein Circle gain their freedom. But after ariveing in the country, were attacked. Anders was injured, but both of them were saved by the silver Knights of vigil's keep. They took the pair to the Keep, still runned by Inara.
Meanwhile, Alistair and Inara had received two letters. One form "a old Firend" about a possible cure to the calling. Some thing they had been privately looking into since the events of the 5th blight. And orders form Comander Clariel, ordering them to meet her.
Before they could decide what to do, the Sliver Knights show up witb Hawke and Anders. Inara decided to let them stay, due to her friendship with Anders and Hawke telling them about Red Lyrim and Coryphus. After much arguing, Inara decides to chase after the cure lead and Alistair goes to meet Clariel. Some time later Hawke gets a letter from Varric saying that Coryphus is alive and the Inquisition needs Hawke's help.
Reluctantly, Hawke leaves a recovering Anders and makes for Skyhold.

Around 9:38, my Hawke got incredibly jealous over my Warden's friendship with Anders. A bit irrational, but that Hawke wasn't a very rational person. She got it in her head that in order to be equal to the Warden-Commander, she would have to become a Grey Warden. She goes through the Joining... and dies. It was very kind of BioWare to include the Fade choice. ![]()
