I'm sure we all have some headcanon ideas that we throw around to make our stories flow better. I've thought up plenty, but my personal favorite is one I'm quite proud of. My personal favorite character in DA2 is Bethany, and it always bothered me how she never really got the happy, fairytale ending she craved and deserved. So, I thought up a way. In Inquisition, since Leliana is Divine in my worldstate, the mages are finally free. Therefore, Bethany no longer has to hide, or be locked away. Since Varric is the new Viscount, he names Bethany the heir to the Amell estate, and everything that entails. Hawke was all too glad to let Bethany be the lady of the family, it allowed him to sail off with Isabela into the sunset. So now, Bethany has the noble, glamorous life that she's always wanted. But that's not enough. I also imagine that, at a diplomatic party, Bethany happens to meet King Alistair, which leads to a mutual attraction, courtship, and eventual marriage. Bethany and Alistair are way too alike for them not to be perfect for each other. Since mages are now widely accepted throughout Thedas, Ferelden has no problem with a mage queen, especially when they find out she's the sister to the Champion, and the cousin of my personal Hero of Ferelden. And thus, everyone lives happily ever after. Cheesy? Corny? Absolutely, but I'm a sucker for stories like this. That's my favorite headcanon. What about you guys?

Two weeks ago I stumbled upon a rather good fanfiction on how Bethany and Meredith were secretly a couple. Of course it ended tragically, but it did its best to use actual plot points from the game.

I really wish Bethany could team up with my Warden Amell, but a female version of him. She'd get to use her magic openly to help people and earn her own fame. People would mistake the Warden for Hawke because she's with Bethany and not in proper Warden armor. So as a joke the Warden would convince Bethany to dress up in Grey Warden armor and pretend to be the Hero of Ferelden.

I have one more from Inquisition:

Thom Rainier, judged to be given over to the Wardens, and Ser Ruth, who was refused any judgment and sent back to the allied Wardens, work together to rebuild the Grey Wardens and eventually become a couple.

I dream that if you're not romancing Josephine, Zevran or Isabela randomly show up to duel Otranto and win her love.

Just thought of this recently.

I headcanon that Teagan was in love with my Warden but never said anything (apparently supported by this being an actual DA2 deleted scene, which he could comment that a Female Hawke reminds him of someone very dear to his heart, but he never had the guts to tell her how he felt). This was further aggravated by her falling for his sort-of nephew Alistair, and the two constantly coming to visit him between DAO and DAI. Add to that the implied pressures of taking over his brother Eamon's Arldom even though he's not one for politics, and I headcanon that that's why he's such a grump-winkle in Trespasser. (And I'm not saying this out of vanity, I want a logical reason for why his character was so assassinated that DLC. Unrequited love coupled with an inescapable lifetime job of political pressure seems like that could be a logical reason for why he's so freaking grumpy this time around.)

Don't forget questionable fashion choices. I honestly think he really couldn't pull off that hat of his.

Merc outfit, The Most Holy, magical bondage, etc.

Head cannon for how you, the nobody, ends up being physically close enough to Divine Justinia at just the right moment while wearing mercenary armor.

For the Qunari/Vashoth merc the armor part makes sense but I have to work too hard to explain why the Knights Divine are AWOL and the merc savage is the only one that responds to her cry for help.

I am inherently head cannon lazy so I came up with the following one size fits all tale.

At one of those awkward conclave mixers The Divine noticed me occasionally nonchalantly gazing to admire her divinity and thought I looked quite fetching in my default beige evening attire. My PC is partial to women wearing big hats.

I was invited for a private audience with her Most Holy. I was also given a package with mercenary armor sized to fit me and was told with a wink that a bit of role playing was required. My PC felt that role playing in general is quite silly but was too afraid to disagree in case the Maker is real. My PC was relieved that the package with the merc armor did not contain anything on the Pearl’s “surprise me” list.

Although, the meeting with her Most Holy is ultimately Cory-blocked it still ends with a bang.

It works for all races and genders.

To me, it's just armor he travels in as an explorer. He's basically a cross between Bro Genetivi and Indiana Jones. You've been to the Free Marches. You don't want to dig in those caves dressed like some priest. :P

But on my Circle mage, I had a more elaborate story. But I'm too lazy to get into it. Needless to say, it's not his.

I think you just described Loghain in Origins.   Teagan's rants in Trespasser make about as much sense as anything Loghain did in DAO. Now I just space-bar through everything he says.....the game goes faster and I don't have to grind my teeth in irritation.

Oh, are you barking up the wrong tree. I have zero sympathy for Loghain.

1) The love of his life had been dead for years by that point.

2) He chose that political pressure when he crowned himself regent against the Bannorn's will, then tried to force them into line when they objected, despite Anora being right there ready and willing to take on the pressures of ruling. ("Ferelden already has a queen, and I am merely general of her armies." Oh really? Then how come this whole civil war is from the Bannorn objecting to you refusing to step down from the regency?)

Loghain's "grumpiness" stemmed from paranoia and pride. Paranoia because he was convinced everything in the world was an Orlesian plot to retake Ferelden, and pride in that he believed that he alone could take care of it, and it could only be done his way, and he would run out the time they had to fight the Blight however long it took for him to try to force a square peg into a round pole.

Teagan's a jerk, but he doesn't exactly start a war over it. Hell, he doesn't start a war in a middle of a war. Nor attack and alienate his allies in the middle of a war and then sell his people into slavery because (shock of shocks) he's stretched himself too thin creating new war fronts from his own jerkassery..

EDIT: Though he says it in a jerky tone, Teagan's demands in Trespasser can be summed up as, "Thank you so much for what you did during war time, but now the war's over and your troops are still in our backyard. Now kindly withdraw them before we give you the boot."

I don't have any extensive headcanons but I've always imagined a funny scene between the inquisitor and Iron Bull post-Trespasser

Iron Bull: Hey, do you need a hand with that?

Inquisitor: Yeah I'll keep an eye out for someone

... yeah i'll just go now

The Archietic is still alive. In both of the worldsaves where I killed him....

*My Lavellan encounters him in my Cousland worldsave, and is slightly persuaded to not kill him until my Cousland is seen yelling at him to kill the Archietic again....

*Lavellan 2 also encounters him and inquires about him. She wonders if he's a Darkspawn Magister - Archie doesn't remember, so he can't tell her, but he does tell her about the time Amell "rudely" killed him. She asks why, he makes a lame excuse why and doesn't tell her the truth. She finds out anyways, through Alistair.

And that's about it, I suppose.

In my version of events (you can call that head canon if you want), the only thing of any consequence is what takes place within the games.

Whatever nonsense the novels and the comics have come up is completely inconsequential.

So, this pfaffery about finding Maric alive, Fiona being Alistair's mother, Sten somehow becoming the Arishok...it's just pfaffery. Never happened in the world I am interacting with.

For me: Twinquisitors, children of HOF. It's on my profile-page near the bottom.

*edit*

I also really loved playing as a mage Hawke whose wit was not limited to humor, but also to rising in the political arena. He became Viscount and he #MadeKirkwallGreatAgain. Then, before anti-mage groups came to remove him from power and cornered him in his office, he put up a magical barrier in front of the door and then escaped via Eluvian (that which he took from Terribl, whom he had long since killed in the final battle)!

That one is also on my profile-page; check it out.

Ooh, headcanon thread :D

Here's mine:

- Lavellan has this huge undying crush on Theron Mahariel. Imagine her awkward moment when she knew that the advisor whose most understanding to her culture and kind to her person is actually his girlfriend XD ouch.. the pain of it all..

- Sera looks at Lavellan like a prude traditionalist big sister that needs to loosen up. Lavellan thinks that Sera is a bratty and rebelious little sister.

- Thursday nights are bake nights. Don't care where, my Lavellan bakes 'something' with Sera and hope that it will turn out edible  (in the wild, use something akin to a dutch oven, when in taverns and skyhold, raid the kitchen) I could almost see Blackwall huddles in fear of what it's gonna be for dinner. Thursday dinner nights will always be fright nights for the rest of the companions during their times camping out. But in time, food gets better and my Lavellan who used to be a mediocre cook at best and sera the ex kitchen virgin came up with a cake desert to die for. And everyone's happy

- that 'to die for dessert cake' recipe was actually from Solas ^^ or from one of his fade pals, I guess.. requested by my Lavellan ^^'

- became best buds with Hawk. And Merril. And Carver nearly flips in disbelief when word got out that his new friend is actually in a relationship with...

- cullen gets an aditional title whenever he enters a ball this time: "Comander of the Inquisition Army and paramour to Inquisitor Lavellan" feign exasperation but secretly he felt pretty much okay with it. More than okay. It seems that his tactics to kiss his 'vhenan' on the battlements in open space (and broad daylight) is starting to produce results :P

- Theron Mahariel made a quiet and surprise visit to Leliana (who was mercifully unhardened ^^') swept her off her feet and the whole team has a --> O.o' expression when she giggles like a girl.

- Theron thinks of Lavellan as his true 'lethalan'.. two Dalish being catapulted in high position wether they both like it or not, tasked with a monumental responsibility of saving everyone.

- Theron is secrectly green with envy because Lavellan shook hands, brush shoulders and have some tea with Mythal (she didn't actually, but he doesn't have to know that  )

I always headcanon that the Arctitect felt the false calling and protected the Fereldan Greywardens in the deep roads that was why they disappeared and Leliana couldn't find them.

It's a common mistake even among other Dalish that all members of Clan Lavellan are related. In reality, they all adopt the surname "Lavellan" upon reaching adulthood and gaining their vallaslin. This is done in tribute to a former Keeper of that name, who sacrificed himself to buy the clan time to flee the Darkspawn during the Fourth Blight.

My Warrior Inquisitor can use Spirit Warrior skills because of the Mark.

In the Fade there is a collection of spirits like Valor, Protection, Guardianship, Justice, and Hope who formed their own Order in reverence to groups in the Waking World like the Grey Wardens, Templars, Chevaliers, and the Emerald Knights. Though outnumbered, they make it their cause to fight the many Demons in the Fade.

I had read a fanfiction once where Dorian punched Solas in the face for ditching the Inquisitor and needless to say, I adopted that headcanon wayyyy before I even planned on doing a Solasmance playthrough.

Here's what I head-canon in DA: I

Cadash allies with the Templars, but instead of Dorian showing up randomly at Haven, there's another mission where magical disturbances are being caused. It's the mage rebellion tearing itself apart. Connor is leading the mages that didn't want to join the Venatori (Dorian is part of this group), fighting against Alexius and some Venatori. My intervention tips the scales, I recruit Connor and his group, who talk about the Venatori, and how they are moving against Haven. Race back, and the battle starts. Dorian joins here.

A Mage playthrough has something similar, but Barris is fighting against the Envy Demon, and Cole joins.

House Cadash were the Carta clan who owned the secret lyrium mine that Blackwall accidentally blew up.

"The Dasher" is the nickname of the notorious member of House Cadash, known for killing anyone who displeases him with a cudgel. No-one is certain whether or not his cudgel has a name, because no-one who finds out lives long enough to tell anyone.
