The radar element in my UI (which I believe is supposed to pop up when left shift is held down in the PC version) constantly and irritatingly flickers on and off no matter what I press- making its little 'zing' noise every time.  When I first started playing, it was infrequent.  Now it's an almost constant zing-zing-zingzingzing-zing-zing that is driving me CRAZY.

Pressing left shift does nothing.

Pressing right shift does nothing.

Can't turn it off, can't turn it on, can't get the goddamn noise to stop.   Please, if anyone knows how to disable the goddamn thing, tell me.

The mini radar from left shift puts up the whole hud for me. The mini radar also turns on if you hold down M, although if you just press M quickly the normal map comes up. Is anything else binded to M, or is maybe your M key stuck? You can try changing your Key Bindings in options as well to different keys, can't hurt.

Something to try is to close the steam window before launching the game. I don't mean shutdown the client, but hit the "x" in the top right corner of the client window. This has fixed some flickering issues with other steam games.
