The +50% damage taken is real or it seems that way.   The +50% damage dealt is no where near it.. I would say about 20%?  Maybe 25%.   My templar normally get about 800'ish on basic attack, it goes up to 1000'ish with shield.   I like the march shield better since it does about the same damage when you are surrounded by 3 or 4 enemies which is just about all the time since you can't kill them fast enough. :P

I think I saw Lokiholland using wintersbreath and cresent shadow the other night when we were in FC.

No. March gives +5% dmg per enemy. So you will need 10 enemies surrounding you at the same time for it to match Winterbreath.

But March does shine in HB when you get lots and lots of mobs and you decide to ditch your teammates and rambo ahead...

So, still no Hakkons, but I did pull a Silencer and Wintersbreath shield yesterday.

Is the adjusted Wintersbreath ( +50% damage taken, +50% damage dealt ) worth it?   And, of course, is it working as intended.. er.. advertised?

Going to run some experiments with it later, but just curious, since it seems like a nice shield for a templar or legionnaire.. at least on perilous or below.

Winterbreath is totally worth it so long as you can survive. Think it as a permanent, optimised Livid...

Remember seeing a Promotion God playing Lego with winterbreath and red lined his health... He's quite literally hitting like a truck  <_<

No wintersbreath does not give 50% extra damage like advertised.   I looked at my actual damage.. when there are 3 or 4 enemies around.. everlast gave about the same extra damage as wintersbreath.   But really neither matter since 800 per hit or 1000 per hit doesn't really make a difference :P

Hmm, I have had some minor concerns about Wintersbreath, and it's stated dmg increase as well. Has anyone tool tipped this bad boy and is it...~ahem~ working as intended?

Not yet.  Seems like I read everywhere it is a bit broken.  Going to try it against a crappy shield, and against March at some point in the near future.  let me know if you get to it first though.

The internal changes are +50 to 'Stat_Damage_Bonus_All' and -50 to 'Stat_Damage_Resistance_All'. Logically, it works, but I'd assume it doesn't apply right at the end of damage calculation, so isn't really a flat +50% increase to damage dealt.

I tested it using Knight's Second (I don't have Wintersbreath). In perilous, I dealt ~900 to ~1100 damage with basic Hakkon crits to Venatori Zealots. After replacing the counterstrike effect with Wintersbreath's berserk via PC blood magic, I was hitting from ~1100 to ~1300. So, effectively a 20-25% bonus. By comparison, the highest number I saw using March of the Everlasting in the middle of a crowd was 1396, but mostly it was around 1050-1200.

In conclusion, Wintersbreath is still for masochists and people with too much constitution.

Who needs constitution if you are a Lego with God mode + 2 or more guard generating skills?

That's pretty much the same results I saw with the shields.   Except my damage is about 100 less than yours in general.

Didn't a patch change all the +50/-50 to +20/-20 ?

Or it was just the weapons and the shield got caught up in it ?

Was last year so I could be wrong and sod searching every thread.

Luke still around ?

Wasn't it like 20/200 to 50/50?

Good point. Still, some people dwarf my 170 con. Pun intended--not sorry.

Thanks for the research and answers!

I had a sense that it wasn't quite 50% but was a bonus of some sort. I notice the damage increase much more with abilities than with basic attacks.

And, seeing how I have played this much DAMP I am clearly a masochist, and that has of course lead to a bloated constitution, so seemingly I fit into Wintersbreath's target market.

Well, I turned my Hakkon into a "Crescent" to test the mechanic, so it's not like I missed out completely.
