I never saw the dragon of Mythal die, maybe they just didn't created the scene in which it return into the temple for budget reasons but maybe i may be wrong and the dragon is really dead..

Why would two completely different people/creatures share the same fate if put in the same situation?
I imagine Morrigan is a lot smarter than an animal like a Dragon, and thus fared slightly better in the fight, only getting injured, not killed.

I don't know how being more smart can help you against gravity.. ![]()
The mythal guardian is not killed by the red lyrium dragon it is killed by the force of gravity

It's just me, or now you are trying to make everything a "non-living" thing? Are we certain the Mythal dragon was an actual living dragon and not, say, a spirit in the form of a dragon?
Edit: As for the OP question, answer is a shiny plot armor for writer's pet.

Well, its body disappears after it brings down the red lyrium dragon. Also, it's a magical guardian for an ancient shrine — not your typical high dragon.

Simple. Morrigan's dragon form is lighter. Thus, softer landing. Also, Morrigan was wearing armor.

At no point did i every think that the non Morrigan dragon died. I safely assumed that they just didn't show it again. Problem solved for me. Goodnight.

Companions will tell you it died, as soon as the fight starts with the red Lyrium Dragon. Very sad.

...Not in my game. I've played the game 4 times and each time i've chosen the non Morrigan dragon and no one has ever said anything to me about the dragon dying.

Gravity is not an opinion....you can't survive even with the most awesome armor unless it
Is plot armor!

The dragon is under the quiz control you can't use it anymore because is dead.
Morrigan instead had plot armor against gravity.

Armour? Ha. Not Morrigan.
Anyway, since we don't know how fast high dragons heal, maybe it has something to do with the Inquisitor attacking it until it was half-dead shortly before. Maybe almost killing something isn't the best way to win it over.

Well, If we go that way, Morrigan wasn't exactly under the Red Lyrium Dragon when was thrown down.

There are still people who keep believe that she is not a writer pet despite all these plot armors?
At this point If she can just retire to writer pet's island i will be pleased enough since i believe that she already had enough exposure.
For god sake this is the 3rd game with her

The plot armor is irrelevant since it's completely possible for two different dragons to have two different fights and two different outcomes.

And how possible is for a person survive a stab in the stomach and a fall from the sky on her first day as Dragon without having any scar or broken bone?

^This^.......At the height she fell from, she should have at least broken her nose and cheekbone.....she did fall on her face after all.And how possible is for a person survive a stab in the stomach and a fall from the sky on her first day as Dragon without having any scar or broken bone?
Anyway.....I've said this before, but now Gaider has left, we probably won't have to see her again. *fingers crossed*
Returning characters are bad enough, never mind ones in plot armour.

I don't know. Why don't you turn yourself into a dragon, we'll stab you in the stomach and drop you from a great height, let you transform into normal form, then we'll see. Plus we'll make you the disciple of an ancient god, expert in shape-shifting and using magic. While we're at it, we'll turn Coke into Pepsi.

Maybe...Morrigan shape-shifted into a small insect that could take the impact, then quickly shape-shifted back into herself right before the camera panned over her.
Hey...you never know.
