That would be pretty great actually, or perhaps a Hanar chef?

What does a Hanar eat btw? I haven't  seen a mouth.

Was wondering if you might get a few non standard ME crew or squad members. A Volus Biotic for example. I know we get the usual aliens in the trilogy but surely other races would play some part. What crew/squad, would you like to see.

Non standard crew

----> All Humans.

P.s.

Good and correct stereotypes are made to be always broken these days.

Well scripted races are going to become snowflakes.

Hopefully a Crew of mostly Krogans and Hanar. A Volus accountant and a few Elcor doormen.

One thing that could be interesting is seeing some of the races in things closer to their natural environment. A Hanar crew member in a water based environment, an Elcor on a planet with extremely high gravity, or a Volus on a planet with a high pressured, ammonia based atmosphere. They don't have to be full on squadmates or anything, but they could make a small point of the fact when exploring uncharted space having crew with significantly different biology could actually be extremely useful.

But if they are in their natural habitats that means you can't put the player who is human in it. Sure you can do with Hanar and water, but high pressure methane and high gravity would all reduce whatever you can do there to a cutscene at best.

I am quite sure that 99% of the planets and environments we will see will be some kind of human accessible variant.

Yeah, completely agree 99% if environments will be human accessible. Wasn't thinking of it as a frequent thing or anything - a couple of cutscenes would be fine. But you could actually have the player there as well without too much trouble. Say for example you need to set up a something on a high gravity world - your elcor crewmembers could be out doing the actual construction while you defend them from within the mako.

Mostly the scene with Thane in ME2 talking about the Hanar on Kahje that made me think of it.

Everyone and their mum wants non-standard crew.

Non-standard is the new standard.

Yeah, going out of one's way to make all the crew members non-stereotypical is just as bad as making them all stereotypical IMO.

There is always room to play with stereotypes. For instance, Wrex and Grunt are both fierce warriors, but the former is fairly wise and level-headed while the latter acts like an eager child.

With that being said, I wholeheartedly support a Krogan chef who makes terrible or ultra spicy food because he thinks it builds character.

This is a terrible idea.  Volus have been proven to be garbage biotics in the SP game.  They can't even spit a sentence out.  Can you imagine trying to get intel from then in the heat of battle?  I'd kill them myself.

I'd like to have a crew made up of all humans and geth.  1 Krogan who is my adopted son.
