Because I posted one here and in the ME3 MP section (where I'm originally from) but some a$$hole "cometh" reported it and was moved here...

Ohhhhhh lol. Well that makes sense then. Yeah some people has nothing better to do than to go around reporting threads like these which are perfectly innocent imo, even if they're placed in wrong sections or not, it's still so silly to report them.

That would be nice. You could play with your friends that own game in another console at least.

The main problem with cross platform is that some will be at an advantage or disadvantage, due to their platform. For example a top end PC will probably be better than a console. However most PC players will be on mums old lap top etc and struggle to play latest games without turning the game to crap setting. and they will be at a disadvantage. Either way Console users will play against unequal systems. Where as on your own platform you are level (er)

Plus Playstation verses X box and PC verses all etc is bad enough on forums let alone during a game.

There is a well known turd on this site that reports everything they don't like.  He is quite pathetic and will probably show up soon to report something since he has no life.

Why the **** are people going on about unfair advantages and all this crap?

I played ME3 multiplayer on PC, and nothing stops PC players from being scrubs that need to be carried. I really don't care if I have to carry console players too.

Would be pretty cool actually.  Let's see if PC players are better than console players.

All I read is "I will scrublord harder in horde-mode than any other scrublord".

Here's to you as good as you are,

And here's to me as bad as I am,

And as good as you are, and as bad as I am,

I'm as good as you are, as bad as I am.

I'm still supporting this, especially since most people I know are pc players and I myself is a console player, so I'd love to be able to game with them like they've asked me to so many times instead of turning them down all the time because of the platform hindrance.

Seeing as how this is a more recent announcement, I doubt we will see it happening in Andromeda. I'm not sure EA will go for it to begin with. Sony has had cross platform co-op play with PC as early as the PS2 and I can't recall EA ever using it, most companies don't.

Cross platform would lead to massive complaints either way. The systems are too different, one side will always have an advantage... or if forced equal, one side will be "downgraded".

Would love this. It was... really time-consuming to try and build up a manifest on PC and XBox 360 (which I acquired refurbished for the sole reason of playing ME3MP with a few BSNers back in the day) when my "main" and preferred account was my PS3 one, where I had everything unlocked and preferred the controller format.

Would be waaaaaaay easier if we could all just hook up with each other on our respective platforms of choice. Cheaper, too. My laptop will be unlikely to handle ME:A and I don't have the funds or desire to sink into a gaming rig nor will I be acquiring an XBox One, so PS4 only here. Learned my lesson from how... un-fun it was to try and juggle three platforms for ME3MP. :P

Also, why are there two threads on this and can we not come to an agreement to just all post in only one of them?

For a minute I was confused, I was so sure I had posted in this thread... but... no posts of mine in here. Then I found the second thread.

Devious. :P

Hmm. Let's say that it's going to be cross-platform between the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Will this mean that my stats will carry over if I use the same EA account on, say, the PlayStation and the PC?

I remember when I went from Xbox 360 to PC I had to start all over again with ME3 MP, even though my Gamertag was linked to the same EA account I was using on the PC. Starting all over again sucked but it was worth it in the end. This kind of game will always be better on PC < opinion.

This news brings me all the way back to when Dreamcast players could play against PC players in Quake 3 Arena. Actually, I'm surprised that cross-platform play sort of just died out over time. Well I mean, it wasn't a standard per se, so yeah nothing really "died out", but the gist is that the concept was there; it's nothing new. And it worked for some games between DC and PC players (well for Q3A it worked, and I can't recall if there were more games supporting cross-platform other than that one). Wasn't there a game (or more) on the XBOX 360 that allowed cross-platform versus PC players too? (I think there was at least one). Seganet power! (gosh the nostalgia right now).

Now, cross-consoles is another thing I suppose. It would be cool to see Xbone and Ps4 players brawling it out online. And by "cool" I mean entertaining, bring a lot of popcorn and have fun listening to the kids cursing at each others for being "better" (or worse) because they're beating the other one on the "inferior" console. But in all honesty I wouldn't care either way. If we end up with cross-platform multiplayer for Andromeda... then that's neat, I'd have nothing against it. As long as I get to play the game, I'm fine.

One OS to find them,

One OS to lure them,

and One OS to bring them all together,

and in MEA multiplayer, bind them.

The platforms are, after all, just different flavors of computers....

...Yah all.
200w.gif

For x-platform -Show me the money. We have one of the most loyal communities the gaming industry can ask for.

But.

Still no-one came up with an idea (just one) on how to make mooooaaar money out of it instead of lessssssss.

Remember in your idea to
1) calculate in the 25% of people that purchased double licences, that would otherwise be lost... Say 3000x50€=150k
2) having a support staff to maintain this 3 years. (3 x first level support , 2 x second level, 8 devs (industry ballmark) @ +15% Opex=1.1m

Roughly 3.5m€ loss without even the initial dev costs for the feature. Dev costs 5 devs over 6 months dedicated(+ over head , cross team etc) - Very conservative Benchmark factor 3 capex : opex

Total = 10,5m€ costs to introduce and maintain. Mb 50% cheaper because ea can reuse this on other titles...

Lets say that we can get 250 000 players buying the basic 80€ licences , then it's an addtional 42€ per person

42€ per person extra (give or take roughly 20 bucks). Now remember microsoft and sony also looses money on royalties
You'd pay that extra tag as gamer?

Technically possible to solve( not overeasy) - but we still need a bright spark to come up with that idea to at least break even on expenses...

Ps: oh yea = (+Compound your business case revenue to 1 year before some silly modder bypass it all and gives it for free, and revenue stops flowing). That or send some members with baseball bats to their home to have a warm and fuzzy discussion.

A great idea - everyone will have to wait longer until broken stuff gets fixed.

Or it just won't get fixed - there's a big ol' price tag associated with pushing anything out to SEN or XBL and the game would need to be kept compatible across all 3 platforms so it's possible a PC or PS4 patch might not happen because of the XBone version of the game.

What would happen if PS4 players (for instance) were dropped into a modded PC lobby with hundreds of enemies at once? Would they go with it or report it to Sony? or EA?
