Greatswords show up as one-handed weapons

Last night I started up a new human noble playthrough with the intent of playing a 2H warrior, however no matter how many greatswords I come along they all are labelled as one-handed. I deleted any item mods I had, however no luck. So far I haven't gone past Ostagar.

Anyone got any ideas how do I fix this bug? I've never played a warrior in DAO so I'm not sure how often this happens.

It doesn't

However I know of several mods that do this, are you sure all of them are deleted?

Check your override folder for any manually installed as well as the list on the login screen.

Finally can you screenshot one of these and post it.

Yeah I've been going through all of them and I'm sure I don't have any item mods left. Only cosmetic/re-textures.

Here's my override folder. For the improved atmosphere mod I didn't use any of the material/item mods either so it's not that.

Nothing is jumping out at me here.

Can you screenshot the sword itself that might provide a clue.

Here, one of the random greatswords the merchants sell. I get the same for all 2H weapons, like battleaxes and mauls.

It does look like a leftover from a mod.

This shop was loaded with the mod so the stuff in it are coded for it.

Can you buy one and see if it reverts, save first.

At this point I think you need to leave Lothering, check with the merchant at camp and see if his shop loads the same.

*scratches head*

It's been a while since I messed around with item properties, but IIRC, an item cannae be altered once it has been encountered in the game world... so a sword already in inventory, or in the stock of a vendor that has been accessed, or even in a container in a map that has been entered, will probably not revert to vanilla, even after a mod that changed it has been removed. (This would also apply to armours.)

Have you tried consoling in a new copy of one of the 'bugged' swords? That would be the easiest way to determine if whatever caused the issue has been eliminated.

Remove BITM_base.gda and try again

Also, that was modified today. Did you do that or is something writing it?

Not really related, but why would anyone want a mod named "uninstall Sten?"

It's not a mod. It's the uninstall .EXE for Dragon Age: Redesigned's Sten morph. Ditto the similarly nomenclatured items... DAR isn't installed conventionally, it has a bunch of (obnoxious) old skool executables, each of which writes to the registry, and thus also has a corresponding uninstaller for each installed component. (Note that the file type is 'application'.)

Ah. That does sound more reasonable.
