Actually these two were biggest problems!

For one reason, all races in DA:I felt like "I'm human regardless of what race I chose to play" and in DA(except in DA:I) all of your chosen specializations also felt like "We don't exist" because they were never recognized. DA:I is pretty much first one in where people are like "Oh so this is what you are", until then you could have used blood magic in front of all templars and no one  would bat an eye in here.

Actually in DAO, there were dialogue options for blood mage and templar specializations.  Only a couple I'll grant you.

Also in Citadel DLC, I think there was a point where Liara could acknowledge Shepard's Renegade scars

There's a funny line in Awakening if you make Anders a bloodmage. Something about him now being a maleficar.

Have to disagree with you there.

I will take a defined protagonist like Adam Jensen or Geralt of Rivia with good reactivity (Assuming I can still define the choices he makes and the things he says), over a blank slate with no reactivity at all - when it comes to AAA games.

When it comes to blank slates PCs I have all those games like Pillars of Eternity etc.
AAA games tend to build themselves on being impressive and flashy (at least relatively) with high grade cut-scenes,
and in that case reactivity is much more important for immersion.

Cutscenes were a mistake from the moment the entered the genre. I will give up not one feature in order to improve them.

I vastly prefer being able to design my character and control his mental state and have that design inform his decisions than having the game acknowledge expliclty acknowledge those decisions. Because the game already implicitly acknowledges those decisions by letting me base decisions on them.

Connecting those dots adds nothing, and it takes away much.

That said, I'm firmly in the DAI camp when it comes to the direction I want future BioWare games to take.

How many times do you inject this in every thread?

It's like you found religion. Is it really that GREAT in the annuls of gaming that you can't contain yourself? How did you even manage to stick with Bioware games going back 15 years, when this is everything you ever wanted.

I almost wish I was as pleased as you. And could see the greatest gaming features... in like the most minor things. "There's less cutscenes! This is true roleplaying.. omg"

ME3 did it somewhat right and most of ME1 cutscenes involve a gun rather than an assault rifle (I think it only pops up on Therum and the Renegade montage at the end of the game). It was ME2 that kept putting up random M-8 Avenger everywhere.

As far as I remember ME3 had you holding the right gun in idle animations in cutscenes but if a scene called for you to actually fire, it was back to the Avenger. ME1 had an advantage that we were always carrying every weapon and they all looked very similar.

Last time I was here I found it better to not engage. This one has ideas far outside where these games are going.

I kind of have to understand it. How trivial things like camera angles could change the hopes of someone. Because it's often just that. Camera angles. No more or less dialogue or choice. Just a pulled out camera... and he thinks it suddenly more of an RPG.

Annals.

It's not everything I wanted. We still can't use other party members as party spokesperson, and the protagonist is still voiced. And we still have classes, and class-specific equipment. And the UI isn't mouse-friendly (scrolling lists are bad).

But it's still amazing. It's even better than DAO, and DAO was BioWare's best game since 2002's NWN.

Well it's not so much they're bad it rather than they just can't realistically account for every option. Classes and gender are really the only ones that can really work. The former can get screwed though if it has the potential to totally derail a story, like Hawke.

I would attribute it more to the design. Their design seems very rigid and dependant on the external resources. In rpgs like shadowrun the only dependency to a choice or reaction is the dialog. Compared to a bioware rpg, they need to encounter for cinematics + dialog + voice recording which is a much heavier operation than a single change in dialog. I mad at bioware for a lot of things like how they can't even recognize our attributes when we they attempt reactivity(like shadowrun or Age of Decadance)

No, protagonist recognition is too video gamey.

All those examples you listed are clearly Working As Intended™.

-Remember playing DA:I and remember Iron Bull telling how he loves readheads, how he goes ~hng~ each time he sees one....and he never comments on your character's red hair.

I always thought it was funny when my Red headed female dwarf/human/elf, would trigger the Leliana's Assassination attempt battle and afterwards when you question the assassin, he tells you his only orders was to kill the little red head girl, and im like, "Which red head girl?", and Leliana is like "He means me." how can you tell Leliana? I mean I'm on Ferelden's Most Wanted List number 1 with a Arrow!" lol, acknowledge my redheadedness Leliana, Acknowledge me Senpai!

Also the blood magic thing. If you're a blood mage and you condemn and talk about how bad it is that everyone else is one but no one mentions your own use of the blood magic I think that's pretty unrealistic xD

It's just a sign you're that awesome at blood magic. You use it so well you brainwash everyone into forgetting you used it simultaneously with using it!

Yes this is what I found hilarious.

Hawke of course is gonna be "Blood mage? Me? Nope, never." but Fenris...this one can't stand blood magic, he wants to tear to shreds the one who uses it and yet when Hawke does it he is like 'nada just happened' also he even praises Hawke for being "different" then other mages and not "weak" to fall to temptations when my Hawke in reality put Merrill to shame of how much blood magic they used. I guess this is why when I played mage/blood mage I would build rivalry with Fenris to add more realism to our relationship in here. Also Arishok fight in where my Hawke uses blood magic in where everyone and their own mother could know I'm blood mage, yet again 'nada' no one reacts to it whatsoever  :D  I honestly always found that hilarious even better about all of this is that Meridith wasn't hysterical when it comes to me in end and Cullen and everyone still defended my blood mage butt, I swear Hawke felt as biggest master troll in here lol.

I'm glad they retconned Wynne and Anders.

I'm all for choices and consequences, but with my own character. If they felt it suitable to take control of their own characters, I can't compain. It's more annoying if it happens directly to me.

The mechanic behind that is silly anyways. You gave them a spec, and it's as if you twisted their arm to do it. I'd rather they just have minds of their own.

This never happened in my game, is it because of 2 specializations? Anyway shame I didn't come across it, because it is seriously amazing.

Origins is the only Dragon Age game in my opinion - The other two are shite spin-offs developed by different companies as far as I am concerned.
