Cross company promotions have happened before in video games, mostly for fighting games and Japanese RPGs that dont make it to America. What if Bioware got together with another company and decided to do some cross marketing by including a companion from a different game series?
Ciri from the Witcher (with reduced powers for obvious reasons)
Serana from Elder Scrolls (vampire companion would be cool)
Basch from Final Fantasy 12 (one of the most realistic characters from FF that wouldnt be too outlandish for DA)
Would probably never happen though.
Just for fun: would you like a companion from a different series?

I could see Iorveth in the game actually. A bad ass Dalish or Ancient Elf that doesn't take crap from anyone, and fights for what he believes in. Give us a companion like that please. Maybe we'll get Abelas in DA:4 and he will be that companion.

If Bioware ever does this, they would pick a character from a fantasy RPG, I don't see them picking Lara Croft or any Star Wars characters.

Nick Valentine from FO4.
Wheatley from Portal 2.
Zobek from Castlevania: LOS
Reaver from Fable 2&3.
Page from Fable 3.
I know it's weird how many of my choices are traitors and villains.
