It says that Captain Hannah Shephard could best keep up her legacy by manning a ship? Is she your long lost daughter? O_O

She is Shepards Mom in the spacer backstory, you have a quest that involves her in ME1 if you go to the Wards acess

She's your mother. If you have the Spacer background your parents are alive, and you can talk to her in a sidequest in ME1.

Hannah Shephard is your mother! Did no one take the Spacer background in ME1? You find a guy in the wards who says he served with your mom, asks you for money. You go back to the Normandy and call her? Plus if you'd listened to the Citadel News report you would have heard it saying that Hannah Shephard talks about "her child's memory"

Shepard's mum is awesome! First Officer of an Alliance Dreadnought is a fantastic position to be in the Navy.

I played one spacer years ago. Is this the only time you hear of Hannah Shepard as a spacer in ME2?

Not contacting a one-night fling from two years earlier I can understand. But really, even if you're a brutal racist renegade down to the bone, who wouldn't contact their own mother after coming back from the dead to tell her you're alive and well? That's just cold.

Oh, she sends you a letter complaining that she had to find out you were alive from a rumor.

Well, when I first played the game on PC I went with Spacer Ruthless. Then when I got it on XBox and started working on the playthrough I would import into ME2 I did Spacer War Hero, then when I made my Renegade Biotic for achievements that I'm still working on I did Colonial Sole Survivor. Never done Earthborn origin. Maybe when I go back to ME1 to make an Engineer for achievements I'll do that one so I can see the third background mission on the Citadel.

I chose spacer so ol'Shep can have parents; it might have been lonley growning up w/ 2 space marine parents but at least he has parents in this background.  I always felt bad for Shep in the other 2 origins, being an orphan.:crying:

I mainly chose Spacer because I always feel it suits a 'technology' class. Something about spending his childhood on a technological marvel in space... rummaging in the engine room or such that I always felt suiting to the Sentinel, Infiltrator and Engineer classes... and seeing those are my top three (In reversed order)...

That and I do not think Colonist is particularly interesting and the 'life of gangs' in the Earthborn... well... I don't like that part a lot. I should still make some Earthborn characters too... and someone with Ruthless while I'm at it... not both combined though - that seems way too stereotype renegade. :P

Isn't she a Captain in ME2? In the news you hear she turns down Admiral rank, just so she can stay on the bridge.

In ME1 she was already and XO, so she had to step up a bit.

I love Spacer background and I was kinda upset that my Shep didn't contact her mommy after she came back from the dead. So, in my imagination, they're currently having a lovely reunion and have been exchanging frequent vidmails!:)

I went with Earthborn/Sole Survivor personally, I believe that was the most badass background.

You would think Shepard would have a pick of his mom somewhere in his quarter, considering he keep a picture of a girl he was for a month with two years ago you would think his mom would at least get one

She turned down becoming an Admiral to remain a Captain. She thought it was the best way to honor her child's memory.

I always wondered what Shep's mom looked like, but they never mentioned what happened to Shep's dad, dead or alive, caring or distant? Nothing is mentioned! I would love another side quest relating to your background, but alas, ME2 doesn't! I really would like to know what his/her parents look like, but w/ face editing I guess BW won't ever show us?

its actually the contrary , she decided to turn down admiralship in order to continue piloting her ship in order to honor her child memory

I'm not sure I want to see her reaction when we tell her we are not dead
