I always wondered what Shep's mom looked like, but they never mentioned what happened to Shep's dad, dead or alive, caring or distant? Nothing is mentioned! I would love another side quest relating to your background, but alas, ME2 doesn't! I really would like to know what his/her parents look like, but w/ face editing I guess BW won't ever show us?

Oh the reason Shepard doesn't talk about his dad around his crew is because he had a pretty normal and boring relationship with him, either they all envy him or they can't believe him

Shepard's dad has more than likely been abducted in Shepard's youth, gotten sent back in time and has become the very source of the reaper-threat.. that's why they're after Shepard, of course... they want him to have a reunion with his father; their creator ... they simply care ..

Colonist your parent were killed by batarian slaver and you was *saved* by the alliance.
Earthborn you were a thug , a low life and at 18 you got into the army.
Spacer you had a normal life with nice but busy parents.

I played one spacer years ago. Is this the only time you hear of Hannah Shepard as a spacer in ME2?
Not contacting a one-night fling from two years earlier I can understand. But really, even if you're a brutal racist renegade down to the bone, who wouldn't contact their own mother after coming back from the dead to tell her you're alive and well? That's just cold.

2. Dad's never mentioned and I hope it stays that way, more RPing. The main reason I love the Spacer background is because is so outstandingly non-mary-suesque, so I'd rather BW didn't step in and kill him off or something equally angsty. I like to assume my Shep comes from a normal family, in a shocking twist on how PC characters are usually handled.
